Outrage from an Online Quiz?!

Please don't bother taking the quiz unless you're really, really bored. But I thought I would bring this up for discussion.

How Evil Are You?

Now, a lot of things the quiz asks aren't really that evil. I mean, killing a bug gets you the same percent as cheating on a lover? Ridiculous. Now, you may be thinking, "I can't believe she's ranting about the stupidity of an online quiz...Oh course it's stupid!" However, my point has to do with the fact that for some reason checking the box "I do not believe in God" makes me 2% more evil. That's a whole half hour a day that I'm made evil because I don't believe in God.

This is not a religious debate on whether there is a God or not, I don't want to debate that here, and we're not supposed to anyways. What I want to bring up is close-mindedness. I'm evil because I don't believe in your God? Are babies raised by Atheist parents evil because they never knew God? What about the rest of the population? Are they evil because they worship a different God?

I was severely annoyed when one of my classes was lectured on the importance of Jesus in education. I knew several Buddhists and Atheists in the class and not only was he preaching, he was also suggesting that higher educated people have a better chance of getting into heaven! While no one was offended by this, it was very unprofessional.

Experiences with other people of different beliefs (or lack thereof, as I'm sure Atheists make all sorts of judgements about their opposites in beliefs)?

This is the one big thing that annoys me about religion, the idea that if you don't believe what person number 1 believes, then you're automatically being judged.

We used to have alot of Jehovahs Witnesses and Methodist Church members knock on our door, I used to chat to them and take it all seriously and enjoyed hearing their opinions, but then we had a different group of people from the Methodist Church (two blokes from the local US Airforce base actually) who were shocked that I didn't believe in god and decided to take it upon themselves to tell me that I'll lead a very sad life and that they think they're church can save me.

I politely told them I felt that was untrue as I'm currently very happy spending alot of time with my family, and asked if it really mattered what I believed as long as I was happy, and if it affected him at all........ then he said he'd pray for me every night........... which annoyed me enough to not want to talk to those types (the door knockers) again, resulting in me having a bit of fun when one turned up, not had anyone knock on the door to preach for about 6 months now.

I found it amusing that I'm 82% evil. Some of those questions are really retarded like killing a bug.

But hell I don't beleive in God and I know right and wrong, shesh.

I think this quiz should be named "How human are you?"
Seriously, just because your mind isn't always pure and clean every second of your life doesn't mean your evil (and I'm not just talking about the looking at nudez pics, I'm talking about the ones where is asks if you've secretly wished someone harm, or cheated on a test or lover, or getting drunk or kissing the wrong person and the like), it means your human. Sure people should strive for better and I believe most people do, but hell, if we were perfect we wouldn't need laws, god (for some people), etc etc.

Now...and I kind of worry about replying this since I know there is some sort of restriction on the topic of religion...
The not belieiving in god making you more evil is well, moot since we know this quiz isn't really about how evil someone is but rather how many mistakes they've made in their life or how human they are instead.

The thing is I know there are religious people that think those that don't believe in god are evil. But I know a lot more people who don't believe that at all and are very religous.
I don't really believe that the former is the majority either, I just happen to think that people who do make that mistake make more of a fuss about it and upset more people, for obvious reasons.

Now, I know a lot of religous people who do believe that people who don't believe in god are missing something. It's not to say that they are pathetic or evil or anything like that. But to these people, they truly believe you're missing out so that's why they might tell you things like "You're life is sad". I don't think thats a very good way to put it but to them life without god is sad and yes, they should explain it better or leave you alone if you don't want to talk about it but a lot of relgious people believe its their responsibility to talk about it anyway. Sort of, at least letting you know what's out there before you say no. And yeah, they believe you're wrong. But you also believe they're wrong. It doesn't mean they think you're less human or evil....it's just a matter of belief.
It seems intrusive, and I could never be like that, but I don't mind it so much because I kind of admire people who believe in something so deeply that they're willing to do such things.

ED: I'm 42% evil, but the result blurb leads me to believe this quiz was created by someone who would rather be evil...so I'm not sure how relevant discussing whether or not they believe that just because you don't believe in god you're evil is.

This brings up an interesting question...if you don't believe in some sort of higher power, then do you really believe in good and evil? I mean, if you don't have some higher power to impress, then what's the point? Aren't the terms "good" and "evil" derived from the teachings of such higher powers?

The sad truth in the matter with regards to beliefs is that people care entirely too much about what everyone else thinks, instead of minding their own business. I belive in God because I choose to. If you don't, that's your decision to make, and it's not my place to try to change your mind or force any beliefs on you, which unfortunately is what many "belief" groups do, whether they believe that they do or not. Your not believing in God does not affect ME in any way. According to my religion, I'll still get to go to a theological place of eternal happiness (that is, of course, if that is what happens when we die) regardless of whether "non-believers" will be present. I also don't think I get any bonus points for all the "heathens" I convert.

The moral of the story is...let people choose to believe (or not believe) in whatever they want, and mind your own damn business because it doesn't concern you. And most importantly, don't let stupid crap like online tests get the better of you, because really...for you own sanity and self-health, it's not worth it.

You just have to remember that these quizes are made by "Joe Anybody" and can have whatever parameters the creator wants. Apparantly this creator equates Anime and anti-God as characteristics of being evil.

So, wait, I'm "evil" because I look at nudie pictures online? o___O That's just silly. XD I imagine it was made by some 13 year-old somewhere.

Another MAJOR problem I see with this quiz is that it faces you against things that you have done in your past, and most religions (especially Christian ones) believe in redemption, correct? So "evils" that you might have done in your past shouldn't count towards how "evil" you are currently. Logically speaking. X)!

And I agree, that was pretty unprofessional of that professor o___O I'm an Agnostic Buddhist, so I encounter people on a daily basis whose religious beliefs are different than mine--and it doesn't make a difference to me XD I'm not going to judge someone for not believing the same way I do. Although, were I in that class, I would probably have felt very alienated and given that professor a very low review.

Hehe, the last people that came and knocked on my door wanting to invite me to church were two teenage boys. And I just happened to be in undergarments (pajama pants + bra) when I answered the door. That was quite entertaining, to me at least. XD

I understand that there are people that don't want to leave others alone until they know that they have shown them the option, but shouldn't they give up the moment that someone has shown that they are authentically not interested? Do I really have to tell them "Thank you, but no" every time I see them?

And according to my beliefs, there is no "wrong" or "right," so I don't believe that they are "wrong," but it is very annoying to be constantly bothered by people trying to force their beliefs on you.
