I just spent the past 30 minutes of my life on the phone with my bank due to sponteneous account anomolies.
I go in today and check my funds online and see that my account is overdrawn...so naturally I have a WTF moment. Even more so when I pull up the history to see that first I was hit w/ a maintenece fee, causing me to fall negative, THEN with an overdraft fee!
Now, I have multiple accounts that are supposed to fall back on each other to protect me from this crap. But guess what? They have no record of my accounts having overdraft protection OR having all my accounts linked up.
BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA BAKA /endrant----Umm, I forgot to mention that I've had accounts w/ this bank since I was 12!, you do the math...
After much debate and frustration having to give account info over the phone to 2 different ppl, while at the office...I think they may have actually gotten it fixed to where it won't be charging me anymore and got a little of my money back as well.
It's really sad when I have to spell out to the woman what I want done AND how to do it...come on lady, you do this for a living? |

Bank stupidity, no doubt. And yes, they do like to do that - pull one fee so that it causes another fee, which in turn can cascade down the way. This is why it's always good to keep enough in the bank to make sure this doesn't happen. Of course, we understand if that doesn't always happen. |

This was a smaller account that I opened a while back that I attempted to use to budget myself. Its been a fairly dormant account until this spontaneous fee. |

lol and if you don't even use it that often why would they need a maintenance fee?? I hate hidden fees. So useless. Should be called "charging you because we can get away with it fee"

well, i had a similar story involving the bank hitting me up. I lost my wallet, after i took out gas, and since gas doesn't immediately deduct, i closed my account (due to wallet lossage), and a couple days later, my CLOSED account was debited and overdrafted me. When i went to complain, the woman tried to tell me that there was nothing to do about it, and that it was my fault.
Lets just say, i got my money back.
I'd find out what the maintenence fees are from, and why they are charging you. I know they tend to charge people when they have less than a certain amount in the bank (which is dumb, if you ask me)
But yea, keep an eye on it...losing money because of others is silly-dumb |

I can't stand when "Miscellaneous Fee" or "Service Charge" shows up on my band statement and money gets deducted, but NOTHING informs me as to what they are or what caused them. |

fees like this is why i quit with Fawkes's bank and moved to a net mostly bank. not had any real probs other than the usual debt order listing when a deposit is listed last inducing a fee that the deposit cannot cover since the fee reduced the amount to less than the total would have been if the deposit went first |
