Background:
My college GPA is a 2.45
My folks were angry to the point the yanked me from Berry.
Course it was the GPA couple with an almost comically half-assed investigation of a very serious case of theft and auto vandalism i was a victim of that clentched it.
So i put in an appy with UGA, i really don't wanna go there, but i kinda don't know what else to do.
I got a job in Aeropostale that i thought was full time.
It turned out to be part time, probably should have seen that one comming, but i didn't.
Folks were angry about that one too.
I can't move out, i'm far too broke. (i might have 75 to my name right now >.>)
But my folks are threatening to kick me out if i don't get a full time job or go back to college. Catch is if i go back to college, paying for it is on me.
Frankly, i see myself as caught between a rock and a hard place and i've got no where to go.

That's where I graduated from.

It's not unusual to have a rude awakening your first year in college.

My GPA in HS was a 3.6. After my first year in college I had a 2.18! I never got it up past a 2.9!

Also... Student Loans! I'm still paying for mine, but they are so worth it! Take my word on that one.

Jyah, hon. Mine's a 2.39 and I"ve been working -hard- just to get it that far (for a while, it was below a 2.0, because I had a rather interesting first year) I'm still hoping to get it to a 3.0 by some kind of magic before I graduate, but who knows?

Student Loans are good. Working is good. Go with those options. ^^ Hopefully you're a bit better person than me and can manage a job and college at the same time. Otherwise, I guess at least try for the student loan and then your parents should support you otherwise, right?

If you want college, loans will be your friend, as will finding some part-time work to supplement that with. If you want work, go for it, get full-time and get yourself somewhere to live. I'd say that the college will eventually help with the getting work more than the work will help your plans to get back to college.

Id say school, loans, and part time job as my vote. But if you'd rather work then go out and work, as others have said^.^

If you do decide to come to UGA I'll be happy to show you around^.^ It's not so bad if you find a good group of people and stuff but I know a lot of people are daunted by the large number of students and such....or something...

Or you could work full-time and go back part-time. Or like I do and work full-time and go to school full-time. It's hell hard but worth it, I have two quarters left and I'm finnished... Then reenrolling for welding!

But Also I think before I enrolled at Gwinnett Tech my GPA was something around a 2.6 and I graduated HS with a 2.63. Last quarter I got my first C in my major related classes :/

Go to temp agencies for jobs -- sometimes they don't respond right away, but if you call them every other day of so, you can get some office work that pays better than retail and can eventually go on your resume. (This is what I did...). I worked with Today's Staffing, but you can also go to Ranstadt (sp?), AppleOne, etc. There are tons of them out there.
