I went by Dloe's old apartment to see if the resident stray mama cat was still there...

Not only was she there, but she's had another litter of kittens! At least 3, maybe 4, all varying degrees of the mom only with a recessive brown streak coming through.

She produces the sweetest and cutest kitties! They always have to best little faces with unique markings. You can't help but smile when you see them staring at you! (They're mainly black and white, like mom...with a little brown streak to them)


If the gate is still broken, I might stop by again, only with some food for them...they're really skinny. But the mom looks pretty good so, she's getting fed somehow. We were really worried about leaving them but that mom is tough and smart...animal control has never caught her. hehe

Awww. <3's~ You sound like me. I'm always feeding the stray mama cats around my house. I've even managed to somewhat tame them. Some days they still don't like me though. >.>; lol

Dloe thinks I care too much about things like those little kitties...but he hasn't been by to see them....fear teh cuteness!!!


It just put me in a really good mood to see them...its not like I want to catch them all to keep. They're not Pokemon

I'm actually more curious over the gender of them all, the last litter was almost all boys. One of these days, I'd like to sneak in kitty #3 in my house...but it has to be a girl.

Only bad thing to these kitties is they might have Leukemia...a previous kitten of hers tested positive for it. But either way, I'm not going to do anything about them. This was the first time in 6 months that the apartment gate has been broken so I could get in...so I considered this a rare treat.

I just think its neat how one cat-mom can consistently produce such cute kids...they're unique in that.

LMAO omg The cat lady ish scary. She kinda looks like one of the ladies who works at the library with me..... they already call her the cat lady too. >.>;

@FawkesFyre- If her babies are testing positive for feline lukemia the mother might be a carrier. Perhaps you could get her tame enough to be spayed? We had a cat die from FeLV and it was an awful experience. TwT I usually am able to tame the kittens ours have and give them away to good homes. I'm hoping in a few months the mama kitties will be tame enough to be taken to the vet and get spayed without them mauling me in the process....

The mom is too smart and strong-minded to be caught...she's evaded multiple professionals We think she was abandoned by the previous, illegal, renters who got deported. She's been out there about 3 years....she just pops out kitties (between 3-5 litters)

<We think she had a litter on the tail end of growing up right when Dloe moved in...then Moochie came from #2...the one w/ Leukemia was #3. In the 6-month gap we had from Dloe moving in w/ me, she may have had #4, making these new ones #5. >

But most of her kittens are super sweet...just really fast! I've only experienced 1 kitten from her who was a total spaz..a girl. Some are just smarter than others, and the mama has her favorites that she trains to be just like her.

I think the kittens would have gotten the Leukemia from the dad (from batch, #3). Its just a matter of how its passed on, I don't know if that means the mom has it as well now...to pass it along to all future kittens.

The lukemia most likely came from the environment moreso than genetics. Exposure to a certain chemical can cause cancer in a damn hurry, and there are LOTS of chemicals that can do that in an residential or commercial environment.
