Hi, welcome to Best Buy.

In my particular store, the first things you see upon entering is the DVD section and the videogame section. Regardless I found a customer who had wandered through the entire store who finally came up to me and asked "Where are your videogames and systems?"

A different customer asks me where the Rob Zombie cd's are, and I point directly behind him.

Some chick asks where the Ryan Adams cd's are and I point directly where she's already looking.

And, of course, the highlights of every day.

customer: do you have any Wii's?
me: sorry, we're sold out.
customer: so you don't have any?
me: that would be the deffinition of sold out...
customer: when do you think you'll have some more in?
me: we won't know until they show up.
customer: can you look up and see when the next shipment is coming in?
me: I believe I just answered that...

I love retail, I just hate the customers...

I actually hate customer service at Best Buy or any other store.

I hate being asked if someone can help me find something.

I'm like..."Listen Jackass! I'm not under 6 or over 60 I know my freakin Alphabet...Get off mah nutz!"

I dunno, I just don't like being serviced by anyone but maybe hookers or strippers.

This is why I left retail for good some years back.

And I did work for Best Buy for a bit, but the most annoying customers I had were when I worked as a Software Etc. manager.

Now I work in IT, and deal with a whole new level of ignorance.

I was a waiter for a while....you wouldn't believe the idiocy that you find there.

Customer: Where's the spinach-artichoke dip on the menu?
Me: Sorry, we don't have spinach-artichoke dip here.
Customer: I guess I'll have the spinach-artichoke dip.
Me: Sir...we don't have spinach-artichoke dip.
Customer: Really?
Me: Yes, really...

Or this one...

Customer: I'll have the nachos.
Waitress: Sorry, we don't have nachos.
Customer: Yes you do...I ordered them last week.
Waitress: That's impossible. Outback doesn't have nachos.
Customer (frustrated): I know I had nachos here...
Waitress: I'm sorry, we've never had nachos...
Customer: Are you sure?

Ah gotta love this Publix story. My friend is helping a black guy at the customer service desk, at 505 we had a line that started about 5ft away at a western union counter to keep the front area from being blocked up. Theres a line of about 6~7 people back by the counter and a 2nd black man walks up behind the one She was helping. And one of the managers was also helping a customer at the lotto counter. (Note there's a few blacks, whites, and hispanics in line.)

Manager: Sir the line is back over there with those people
Man: I have to go wait over there?
Manager: yes
Man: Why do I have to wait over there?
Manager: Becuase thats where the line is.
Man: Your having me go over there and not letting me stand up here becuase your a fucking racest arn't you?
Manager: No I'm not racest, that's just where the line is.
Man: Your fucking telling me becuase I'm black I have to wait over there?
Manager: No I didn't say that, I just asked you had to wait over and if you don't calm down I'm going to have to ask you to leave
Man: Fuck this racest place I'm leaving.

I can deal with stupid customers, even stupid customers that pull a "Minority/Sex" card on me. It's the employees/managers I end up working with, that when stupid, I could just beat senseless.

GM "Why didn't that aisle get finished?"
Me - I delegated it to T** am he did not finish it. I asked...
GM "I didn't ask why T** didn't do it, I asked why YOU didn't do it"
Me - Because I was handling the other tasks I was assigned, and I delegated this particular task to T**
GM "Stop placing the blame on others." (Que endless lecture on being the crew leader, etc, etc)
GM "You need to delegate these responsibilities to the crew and make sure they finish, if they don't you let me know so I can speak with them."
Me - I just did tell you. I gave that task to T** and he did not finish it. When I asked him why it was not done, he told me because he was helping A*****.
GM "There you go blaming the crew again, now it's A***** fault."
Me - I never said it was A***** fault.
**** Repeat the similar thing over and over again

Heck, this thing in itself could be a whole other topic... I'll take a dip**** customer anyday over employees, at least I might not see them ever again.

I'm more with Gaaz on this kind of stuff. If I want help finding something in any store, I will ask. Otherwise kindly leave me alone.

Its just particularly annoying after you get asked the first time, telling them no...and then having every other emplyee in the store ask you again.

The customer asking about a Wii sounded pretty reasonable to me and would follow about the same sequence as I would If I was asking about something....except for the stupid "so you don't have any" part.

Do you have any ------?
When will you be getting more in?
Can you check and find out?

I guess its just a kind of customer inconceivability that a store has no idea when they are going to receive a shipment, and even moreso, no even an idea of what they're going to be receiving.

Micro Center is my alltime least favorite for customer service. The sales ppl run off commission and compete like all hell to find what you need so they can slap their sticker on the product and get credit for helping you. I went there once and just asked where I'd find a certain type of product...they took me to the product and then wouldn't go away until I acted like I was going to buy a particualr model. Then they slapped their sticker on it, acting all cool and subtle about it and walked away. I pulled off their sticker and put the box back on the shelf, I never said I was buying anything...I just asked where something was. Rolling Eyes

But of course the evil irony of all this is that when you actually need someone to help you, you can never find someone. Neutral

I hate when you ask for something and it turns out that it is right behind you.

And it is always after you have been running around like a maniac for fifteen minutes without finding what you are looking for.
It doesn't matter who I ask it is always just around the corner or just beside me.
Is it a curse?
