EA has a huge giveaway coming up thanks to it's upcoming WC game for XBLA.
Crazy amounts of stuff... how crazy?

To celebrate the Wing Commander franchise making its comeback attempt with Wing Commander Arena, available today from the Xbox Live Arcade, Electronic Arts has announced an amazingly ridiculous giveaway. One grand prize winner will take home all of this:
According to EA, that is "every Wing Commander game on every platform it was ever released on ever& except for one or two that were really hard to find," as well as every console, handheld, or computer needed to run the games. On top of that, the grand prize winner will also receive an Xbox 360 Elite console, as well as 11,200 Microsoft points (~$140) -- 800 of which could presumably be spent to purchase Wing Commander Arena. Here's the entire grand prize haul:

You liked Project Silpheed... you'll like Wing Commander.
Same type of game but better execution in most cases. (Especially the PC versions)
I played 1 and 2 and that was it. Gaaz is the only one I really know that is into Wing Commander enough to truely be worthy of this type of prize pack. |

I must enter this contest.
My friend and I logged many, many hours in Wing Commander back in the day. I recall him upgrading his 5.25" floppy drive to a 3.5" just to play the first expansion. And the time I got a new 486 with a "Turbo" button, the gameplay was so accelerated it was like playing in fast forward.
I'm a little disappointed that Wing Commander has been relegated to an XBLA release though. The franchise deserves its own brand new, next-generation game dammit! |

I'm in on this, but mainly for the systems. Was never a huge Wing Commander's fan, but then again I loved Tobal No.1 so my tastes are bit a flawed to say the least.
I kinda like the XBLA release, got kind of a Armada feel to it. Though the controls are a bit akward, feels like a FPS mated with a Shooter. |

Not WC: Armada, Armada as is the Dreamcast game. Top Down Isometric robotron like shooter. I can tell you Arena is nothing like the previous games in the series. It's defiantly an "arcade" title. |

Wing Commander III was such a great game. Heck, it even co-starred an ex-pornstar! And it had Malcolm McDowell!!
I personally believe Mark Hamill made a better Christopher Blair than he did a Luke Skywalker. |
