Where has the rule for common courtesy gone in the workplace where you can't chime in on a conference call b/c 2 of your coworkers are having a heated debate?
I'm on a major conference call this afternoon where we are being trained/ informed about the bid process for the latest project i'm on...complete with all of our competitors on the call and I can't go off mute b/c of 2 coworkers on my end argueing about network reports!
I work in a small office where the employees work in different sectors...and often are not even in the office for whatever reason.
But I was, they knew I was, and I am still pissed over this. They were so loud that I had to crank up the volume on my call just so I could hear the presentation...and it was on speaker so they knew I was on a call.
Sure, having my call on speaker wasn't very nice either, but I can't go on Mute without doing this.
This just really hit a nerve with me, especially since they do this all the time. Its an employee and his boss where they never see eye to eye on things which makes me wonder who's at fault. But either way, I'm getting sick of it. |

Don't be shy to tell them to lower the volume. Otherwise they'll never know they are being disruptive to others and will keep being as loud and clear as this forever and ever. |

Heh, that is why I got a nice headset so when I'm on conference call at my cube I don't have to worry about the rabble.
It is pretty bad when your Director & VP don't use the phone to call someone over in the department they just shout really loud from the office. |

yeah yeah, rub it in...my headset r broken....and it pinches my head.
the only thing worse is when there's a big conference right behind me then its like a freakin party....where they don't even send out any food for me  |
