The second Doctor's visit.

I haven't mentioned this to anyone yet except Rollergirl due to the pure nature of the situation and to Shan for... well... obvious reasons.

The weekend before last... I was sitting at dinner with Shan, CK and RG and started rubbing my neck. There was a lump there.

Being as active with the ACS as I have been in the past, this immediately made me uncomfortable.

Last Wednesday, I went to the doctor to get it checked. She told me that she doesn't think it's anything to worry about but to keep an eye on it anyway. The thought was that it was just an inflamed Lymph node. Which is what I figured too. She wanted to rule out Lymphoma all together so she had me make an appointment for today to check up on its progress.

The lump is still there and I had some blood drawn for testing. She said it didn't seem to her like the lump had gotten any smaller and that she thought the blood test was a good idea.

So now, in the next few days, I should know if there is something to worry about or not. If the sample comes back with more white blood cells than normal, she will send me to a specialist. Otherwise, she said we'll just keep an eye on it and if it's still there in a couple of weeks, she want to see me again.

Needless to say, I am a bit concerned. It's been over a week since I first discovered it, and it felt like it had shrunk to me the other day, but this morning, it felt the same as last week.

I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about, but I can't help but worry a bit.

I'm telling you, man... I just think you got an M&M lodged in there somehow. Nothing to worry about. I get M&Ms stuck in weird places ALL THE TIME! It's crazy.

M&M or not, g'luck. Really glad you're getting checked out. Way better safe than sorry.

I hope it comes out ok.

My dad is having to go to testing every couple of months now for prostate cancer, due to some tests hes had. He doesnt have it, but he seems to be at high risk, since whatever they look at for it, he is borderline. He had the finger test done (I wont explain anymore lol) and they said they think he is ok for now, so I just keep praying that hes ok and not going to get it. I'm not overly religious, but I hope something out there is listening.

I have a lump on the joint of my middle finger on the inside, its bizaar. I've had it for months though, and when i asked my Dr, she said its probably just joint fluid that has leaked out and formed a lump...fairly common evidently. I just have to monitor it for changes, but dammit its annoying...its on my right hand and I use my right hand for everything and i keep banging the bump on silly everyday tasks like opening doors and driving my car Ouchies my hand

I'm surprised they didn't do a biopsy (take a small skin sample) on it and test the area of skin. I remember having to do that once because I got a strange mole on my shoulder once (turned out to be nothing).

If the lump bothers you I have a K-Bar and a bottle of Whiskey!

Seriously, I hope the test turns up nothing.

Thanks guys... nothing to worry about just yet. Doesn't stop me from doing it though. I just wanted to share with you guys b/c ... well... family and all.
