Yeah, I usually run it at 150% speed. Set the diff at no higher than 4 as a beginner also. Difficulty 8 is where you wanna get to when you're ready. |

Yeah, I'm doing it at 2 right now on 125 speed. I'm getting better at it, but I'm having more fun just having the computer go at it and just watch. Hopefully I'll have all me Fire Pro 2 characters transfered over by tonight, then I'll be able to do a good league. |

Dude, that what the league is all about. Creating and programming a wrestler and then seeing him work thru that program accurately is like watching a child take his first steps...and body slam someone. LOL
I will definitely keep you posted on the rebirth of my old league. |

Coolbeans. I gotta work through the logic system on my characters though. They never seem to want to pin each other. |

Well Nogs, if you're working with a new moveset and the default logic, you'll have problems. The default logic often is pretty rigid (finishing moves on []+O, pin moves on [], submission or strikes on O, etc). I always redo the entire logic when doing my moveset. Since the basic setup is light/med/strong from X to [] to O, that's how I set up the logic. I also always put standing Finishers on the O button, it's a alot easier to press that than the []+O combination for when I play the character.
Just some ideas. |

I finally got to doing the logic. The main thing I adjusted was the 3 priority attacks, which seemed to work out for most characters, although a couple of times I had Jolly Roger doing leg drops after his finisher instead of going for the pin. But I should have it all fixed now. I got 14 original characters so far, and I'm a little scared to make more, just because I don't want to reuse alot of moves and have similar characters. |

Well I've made upwards or 30 characters and I never fear for running out of ideas. I just pick a theme for the character before making anything at all and then stick to it. For instance, when I made my zombies I made them like real zombies. You won't see them climbing the post and doing high flying moves. They are extremely slow and get run around all the time...but Chibi can testify for how good they are. They were the only undefeated tag team in a 20+ man league. As solo fighters, one was dominat and one sucked. I could have tweaked that but I didn't. I made them to be a tag team so I really didn't care how they performed solo. When I make any character I first start out with a gender/class, and point limit (that's important to making them different) and then choose the finisher. From there you pick the Style that works with your finisher (it should make your Finisher an A move) and that will help you select what moves go with that style.
Just stick to your guns and avoid being swyaed by the "cool" moves and you'll be ablke to create 100 guys and not have them the same. Logic also makes the difference. You can take the exact same fighter and give him two totally diff sets of Logic (say, one who goes for pins all the time vs one who goes for punishment) and they'll play differently. Add in the fact that you can now make them play to the crowd and it's amazing what you can do.
I love this game.
BTW, close to 1/4 of my characters are women...even my female zombie . LOL |

Well My main tag team, the Jolly Rogers, does that to a degree. Skull is the more punishing of the two and he only goes for pins after his finisher. CrossBones on the other hand is more of a hi flying submission guy, so he'll do a frankensteiner right into the his submission. I have a couple of characters who are just vicious. One of my heels has nearly all of his moves target the back, and his finisher is the bow and arrow hold, which right now he does way more than he should, but the way I got him to scream when he puts it on is classic. I just wish it didn't take my an hour plus to make characters, but then again, If I'm taking that much time, I must be doing something right. |

You sir, are doing EVERYTHING right. When you get to where you're finishing characters in 20-30 minutes you know complacency has set in and they will suck ass. Trust me on that. I guess I average 2-3 hours tweaking for my guys to get to where I'm happy enough to run them thru their paces and I've been playing this game for ten years now.
What takes me too long now is the look. Now that you can layer things it gives the ability for thousands of new looks but they've actually removed lots of items/parts. Considering the game takes up maybe half a dvd they could have at least left in all the visual parts. |
