I would say that life is too short for all we have to deal with in our lives just to survive.
People literally work themselves to death, get killed on the job, or kill themselves b/c of some element related to their job. We work so hard at our mundane jobs to make enough money in order to survive and enjoy life later on, but by the time you get to that age, you're too tired and old to really enjoy it.
Didn't mean to sound so serious and doomsday about this...
On the lighter side, you could always stick around as a ghost. Dloe and his family have had some pretty stellar encounters...and we both witnessed one thing last month.
I had a candle on the corner of the entertainment center. We were sitting watching TV when the candle suddenly rose up, and then dropped to the floor. Sure things fall, and the vibrations of the TV could have made it fall...but not rise up first. We were both staring straight at it when it happened. |

damn...this is some profound Sh***t. Time to crack my knuckles as i wait for a movie about angelic associations finish downloading to my H-Drive.
Anywho, this is a fun subject for all to talk about. I really don't know what I would want people to do with my body when I die. I guess bury it...not sure. I know my girlfriend wouldn't agree with me, since she doesn't believe in visiting a gravesite. I, on the other hand, do. It's a form of remembrance.
Which brings me to what i really liked about this conversation - Remembrance. I know for a long time, even to today, I dream of being remembered for something, even if it's small, but as long as I've impacted the world in some way and changed the course of someone's life, that I've succeeded in life. So far, I've been able to change the course of someone's life greatly...that leaves the remembrance to be attained.
It used to worry me that I would live a bland life, doing something bland and trudging down the long grey line of life. The reactions I got from my father when he would accomplish something was somewhat negative - maybe because he didn't care if he succeeded, so long as his children did. I was raised by a mother and father who put a lot of love and faith into me, and believe that one day, it will pay off. I not only want to fulfill that, but I want to be able to pass that down to my own children.
My dad never thought that people loved in sometimes. After he died, family that I never knew existed appeared. No one really grasped the concept that my father was a focal point of our family - when things went wrong, it was he who was the first to help out. When people had problems, he was always there. When someone said there was something wrong, he always listened.
People remembered him the way I want to be remembered - Loving Husband and Father. I want one day to be able to be both of those things to whomever.
In the meantime, my film-expertise can maybe show the world that view. It could be just what we all need.

Oh, GAAZ, much like my aunt, you'll never be satisfied. My last will and testiment will have directions to launch my remains into space. It shouldn't be too expensive. that's like a bottle rocket's length from Fiji's summit. Bear Gryls would do it.
Mikey, it's cool to know that being remembered when you go is driving you to excel, that's commendable!

I will be remembered for never being satisfied. Much like Mr Creosote I will live on until I have sampled everything in life till my final wafer-thin mint. |
