that's what's weird, I KNOW funny females, but all of the ones that do it for a living suck. I'm sorry, I no longer get the shock value from a woman talking like a sailor. This isn't to say that a good 65% of male comics suck too.

I think that's an understatement. I'd say more around 80%. I've noticed that there are a lot of people out there who THINK they're funny, but really aren't.
I know I said earlier that most female comics just talk about the same thing, but after reading Doot's response that male comics talk about the same thing, I really reflected on the situation and realized that she's absolutely right. And what's more, I noticed that a lot of comedians usually have one topic that dominates a large portion of their act. For example, last night UP and I were watching Chris Rock's latest special, and while I find Chris Rock pretty funny, all he REALLY talked about was black people, and how much marriage sucks.
I like Carlos Mencia (don't start...I'm just sayin'), but all he ever talks about is Mexicans and terrorism. George Lopez (from what I've seen) just talks about Mexicans. |

I told Osiris he should write for female comics.
It would short circuit anyone's brain to hear the stuff he says sometimes coming out of a woman. Hehehehe. |

Kathleen Madigan. I find her incredibly hilarious. She doesn't do so much "Find the right guy, I have my period" kind of humor. It's more observational like most male comics I hear. |

Well, I posted this back in your original comedian thread back in Nov, but these are some people to watch for. I find them highly amusing most of the time.
Comedians I currently like in no particular order, and I'm sure I forgot a ton, but these Ive become HUGE fans of by listening to Raw Dog on Sirius. Hopefully you can find a few that you had not heard of that tickle your fancy.

Phyllis Diller is more active now than she has been in the past decade...I swear! I still remember her from the old Scooby Doo runs...which they showed fairly recently
Kathy G. is like nails down a chalkboard for me...
Sarah S. is just not funny to me...
Margaret C. is ok. I like when she mimics her family...
Ellen D. is funny by just being herself with little quirks...
Wanda S. cracks me up, mainling in movies b/c she does a ton of typecasted roles as herself |

Will give the ones that I haven't already a shot. Thanks for the list Sciler!
I'll have to check out Kathleen Madigan. Osiris writing for female comics would be awesome. Osiris writing jokes for PRG would kill me though. That would be like seeing God.

GAAZ sent me some youtube vids of Kathleen Madigan. She seems really funny, even though I've always been bothered by comedians who laugh at there own jokes. But that's just me nitpicking, she is pretty funny.
