I just watched this film and have to say it was quite beautiful.
It stars Roberto Benigni and his wife Nicoletta Braschi. It's about a poet who dreams every night of marrying his dream woman while in his undershirt and boxers. You see the story unfurl as you see him actually run into this woman countless times and then follows her to Baghdad (during the war) when he finds out from a fellow poet, played by Jean Reno, that she has been hurt in an explosion.
It is quite incredible to watch this film and not feel very moved just by the words alone. If you are a poet at heart you will LOVE this movie, even if you can't handle the somewhat hyperactive Benigni.
Tom Waits composed a song that plays throughout the film - which fit like a glass slipper on Cinderella's foot. If you have seen Life is Beautiful (the film he won several Oscars for) then you won't be disappointed in a somewhat "modernized" nod to it.
If you have Netflix you can watch it online. (That's the route I took). |

I saw that movie last... No wait make that 06, and it is lovely. I really like the cute romance that it shows. |
