Another problem lies in that unless you do History at GCSE level, you don't cover World War 2. In Year 9 (the year before we start our GCSE's which are our compulsory school leaving qualifications), we only covered World War 1 and upto the point where the Austrian Prime Minister (Am I right there, it has been a long long time, I was 14 when I learnt this, I'm 23 now and ALOT has happened in my life since then) was shot...

Also, things aren't helped by the most prominent thing to have the "Churchill" name being an Insurance company with a bulldog as its mascot (which is probably why so many people believe Churchill is fictional, i.e. either confusion or just plain idiocy).

Here's an ad for the company:

It is events and the general stupidity of the general populace that really make me want to bunker up and not deal with them. That would be stupid though...election year and all the stupid rises to the top as the ole centerfuge spins the words of the jackoffs that want to be leader.

Wow any more tension and those lines you must get will only get deeper. While I respect your opinion on such a thing, you make it seem like it's such an unforgivable sin. Let me ask then, what can be done then to remedy it?

To all would be, current, or someday parents of PO. The problem has been presented. So nows where you can make a difference for your children right? Humanity is not lost of people try right?

Bitchin about is fine, but thinking of an idea is even better.

i just feel natural selection is hampered here in allowing this ignorance to expand thus the stupidity bloom we now have and people should become more educated about their history. being a student of and lover of history i feel this is an indicator of major danger for humanity. i may have no faith in it and most of the time want chlorine in the gene pool but i feel also saddened for what future i will have, my friends will have, and my future decendents will have if mankind doesn't pay atleast an iota above the current standard for memory/history.
i do understand that change is not likely but atleast i am doing this: when i intereact with my nephiew i do teach him what i can about the how, why,who and when of anything that he asks me about. I also teach history to one friend who loves hearing it all from me (yes i mean you toki). my parents kept a library of history books for their knowledge and for their 4 kids to read. i also have toured as many historical sites as i can to form my own history knowledge from all the tainted sources called historical documentation. in essance i am saying i am doing what i can but can only do so much when people would rather spurn world changing events and elements for lighter topics in such volume they have no more room for the heavy.

i shall close this with a couple quotes and direct y'all to read my siggy for the most harsh one by Hitler.

"Remember it is not the votes that count. It is who counts the votes." -Joseph Stalin
"History is a version of past events that people have decided to agree upon." -Napoleon
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Einstein
"In order to form an immaculate member of a flock of sheep one must, above all, be a sheep." -Einstein

Edit: I forgot one good one that is VERY on topic:
"A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving."-Einstein

What a joke. I got my elementary school education in British schools (mostly, I think, those attached to British Forces bases.) and it used to be an excellent system. GB is falling apart.

Yup, the PC Brigade say we're not actually allowed to called it Great Britain anymore, it might upset another country because they're not "Great", they've actually requested that we change our name to "New Poland"

This may not actually be true
