Hey Everyone, I don't know if anyone has posted this before BUT my mom showed me, and well.. I thought it might interest some of the ladies here on PO.. soooo!

I haven't done any more research about the scholarship, and that's just the basic CNN article (which mostly discusses how the women's video game industry is growing), but I figured I'd share the link anyway.
So yeah, I thought that was pretty cool and maybe someone can take advantage of it! Sounds like a great opportunity to me! |

based on what I read, it seems like it is available only to those who are currently enrolled at an Art Institute or whatever...so not much hope for someone like me, who's been playing games since she was 4 yrs old, but just hasnt had the funds to even attempt to go to college for something involving video games.  /sigh |

Sci... I know how you feel. I'm not in the same situation, but I am in the situation where I finished college with a CS degree... then a year later they start offering game programming classes.

However, an upcoming interview for bitparade with Bizarre Creations (Liverpool based developer, famous for Project Gotham Racing) may have a shock for those who enrol in this sort of course. Games Developers don't actually want this, alot go for experience, but Bizarre prefer to go with people who have lots of enthusiasm and would rather take a chance with someone who was part of a small team that maybe made a mod for Half Life 2 using the Source Engine than someone who has this that and the other qualification. |
