I'm not a Brett fan (tho my girlfriend is) but I'll say he definitely went out on top. It would have been sad to see him end his career mopping up behind some snot nosed rookie or just bouncing around from team to team trying to get a paycheck. Brett played almost his entire career (who even acknowledges his 2 hours in Atlanta) in the same place and did his work for the same team. That's a rarity in sports nowadays with everyone simply following the money trail wherever it goes. He also bounced back to have one of the best seasons of his career and break a couple of meaningful records. Respect given.
and I'm glad the Giants won't have to face him next season.  |

Well...being the oddest placed packers fan, i'm epically sad. I feel like the guy has been with the team since i started to like them (which was an inordinately long time ago.)

Oops, totally missed that one and I am a huge Packers fan!
I missed the actual conference but they showed it on the news in its entirety and he kept tearing up and choking up the whole time. It was so emotional that I started crying too. (I'm such a softie)
I just love how he gave props to his team rather than just himself and that he said that it wasn't for the fame or the money or the recognition. he still stays so very humble about his gifts, and yet, it was his time.
He will be sorely missed...  |
