I know that nobody in their right mind takes fox news seriously. But this recent debacle has me wondering, how out of touch with reality are they really?
Basically, Barak and Michelle Obama pounded fists when crossing each other's paths at a rally. One of the Fox News reporters, driving sensationalism, called it a "terrorist fist jab."

On the one hand, it seems like they are throwing around the word "terrorist," doing whatever it takes to get their ratings up. On the other hand, I find it almost offensive that they are talking about something that is so common in our culture like it is some sort of alien experience, something that nobody knows about. In fact, there were several reports coming out of the media that were just unbelievable--The NY Times called it a "closed-fist high five." NBC news interviewed a bunch of minorities to make it look like a "black" thing, and fox news...brought in a body language expert??? Really?
It sort of blows my mind. But in any case, next time I'm hanging out with friends, I won't say "pound it!" Oh no.

I know I'm going to sound like conspiracy guy here but Fox is owned by conservatives. They want to make Obama look as bad as possible to bristle up the con right to rally against him to McCain. I may be thinking too much into this but isn't this also the channel that called him Osama "accidentally" on air? |

Fox News always has the body language "expert" on. It's an almost daily thing. They do Oprah a lot to "decipher" her guests true reactions, so called. I think it's a load of crap.
I don't know about any terrorist fist-jab, I thought they were just activating their wonder twin powers!

MY youngling calls it "fim"... we haven't figured out why. My dad used to say "William gimme some" and I think he just kinda adapted it into his own word. He does a Fum up and a Fim. |
