In battle, one finds hidden truths

[Konstantinos]

Seeing the would be warrior fail at his frontal assault, Konstantinos shifts his focus from defense to offense. Lowering his Psychic shield, he focuses his energy into his wand, directing it towards Tobias.

Entrails of incandescant blue light surround his temporary ally in a nimbus of power and protection. So long as he holds his honor true, Tobias will act with the power of both of the demon's enemies.

Temporarily weakened, The Hand of Fate falls to his knee, focusing his mind on gathering his lost energy.

[Diablo]

The demon stops laughing as he notices the energies floating towards Tobias. Diablo peers to his right and notices the man on his knees and takes advantage. The demon rushes over towards Konstantinos but during the calamity of his laughter he dropped his sword, and with no other weapons but that of his own appendages the demon strikes at his foe with the full force of his leg, attempting to kick Konstantinos high in the air.

[Tobias]

It felt cool, the brilliant light that surrounded him. I reminded him of times long ago, and of the plains that he would wander back on Eden. His mind snapped at that thought - he remembered something. It had been so long since he remembered anything but a face - but a mountain that stood looming in the distance, or an ocean that he sailed across.

Tobias lifted Eden, and his eyes glowed silver. With a burst of unfathomable speed, Tobias stood in front of Konstantinos, taking the full blow of the leg. He went up in the air, wincing, but ready for whatever attack may ensue.

[Diablo]

Diablo was thrown off by the act of protection. His mind raced with 'why' and he lost his mental footing. Though strong his control was, even stronger was the will of Kain. The demon dropped clutching is head. His mind was racing, trying to hold onto his last thread control. He rolled around as if battling an unseen foe. It lasted awhile and then the demon stood up blinking his eyes.

"I must LeA... AHH!!"
The demon was wincing in pain, he started running as best as he could towards an exit, any exit. His balance was off and he stumbled around franticly as he made his way out.


"I've.. learned all I need to about myself to, today..AHH, AAHH. I must leave to save YOU!"

Those were the demons last words as he made it out of the arena, forfeiting the match

[Tobias]

Tobias hit the ground hard, and after hearing the demon's words, he got up and dusted himself off. The cool light around him left him like a breeze, and in the distance, he saw his sword locked in the ground. He thought to himself, that maybe it was knocked out of his hands when the demon kicked him.

It didn't matter. The fight was over, or so he thought. The other man was still there. He knew not of what was going to happen.

[Konstantinos]

Konstantinos lifted his broken body off the ground. It would take a great deal of magick to mend his bones, but the aches and pains would last much longer.

He turned to the man in simple garb, his savior.

"I thank you friend. I am in your debt. Know this: Karma has seen your actions this day and will reward you justly...and so will I."

Without another word, the Witch began limping slowly out of the arena. As he reaches the gateway, he calls back to his ally.

"You know, you could have let me die today. Why, pray tell, did you let me live?"

[Tobias]

"Consider it a hunch."

The wayward put the sword on his back and lifted Konstantinos' arm over his shoulder. "I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself either."

[Konstantinos]

Konstantinos accepts the help of his new ally.

"A worrier with a conscience? You are a rare jewel indeed. I thank you friend. May you receive all the blessing you are destined to receive."

[Tobias]

"F*** blessings. Haven't done a thing for me. Not yet. Never will."

The two men walk out of the arena.
