Went to a Weird Al concert last night. It was awesome. He started with the polka medley from his last cd. It kinda sucked, though. It starts with the chicken dance, but none of us could dance along. All the seats were all too close together. He did all four big rap songs, It's All About the Pentiums, Amish Paradise, Couch Potato, and White & Nerdy. He did both Star Wars songs, The Saga Begins and Yoda. Of course he did both Michael Jackson songs, Eat It and Fat. One of the funniest was I Wanna B Ur Luvr. He had this bright red suit on, and was going around the audience, singing to people. He did a medley of some of his own songs. He sang Bob. He sang Spider-Man, which was pretty funny. The song requires both the harmonica and accordion. Al plays both of those, so his stage hand is out on stage standing next to him throughout the whole song. All he does is hold the harmonica up to his mouth, so he can play it. Then there was THE DRUM SOLO!
In between each song, they played parts of the Al TV celebrity interviews he's done throughout the years. One in particular is very important. This one. Skip to :55 and watch to about 2:00.
The encore! For his first song, he sang this. He then ended with Albuquerque. He actually made the song longer. When he got to the part with the donuts, he just kept naming more and more donuts. The part where he loses his train of thought, he goes "oh well, I guess I'll just have to start over", and he actually starts singing part of the beginning, before continuing on.
He also messed with the audience a few times. At the beginning of Yoda, a bunch of us were singing along. He just stops and stares right over at us for a few moments, before starting up again. I forget the exact song, but during one, there was this girl in the front row who kept standing up. He stops singing, walks up to the edge of the stage, and stares down at her until she sat back down.[/url] |

I've seen him a couple of times in Milwaukee when he would play at Summerfest. He is awesome live and has more costume changes than Cher. LOL |
