I, for one, usually need to have some sort of music playing when I drive. It just makes everything go smoother and nicer. I've noticed though that some songs are better suited for driving than others. When I drive, I usually like to listen to something high-energy and fast paced, which makes it more fun to drive fast. Techno or punk rock is usually good for this. I've made a mix or two devoted to this kind of stuff for exclusive use in the car. What do you guys think are good driving songs?
I'll start off with something that Razer and I mentioned in another thread...Dragula by Rob Zombie...

If I'm on the road for 12 hours +, I like to listen to all of Keven Parent's albums in a row yeah! I'd also like to get the songs from the "Dumb and Dummer" movie. (remember? With Jeff Daniel and Jim Carey? heyhey)
Downtown, I listen to trance, I aso like classic, but for some reason, I always end up thinking of mega car crashes happening at the same time the music plays |

Offspring songs are usually great for driving. Especially fast paced ones like Staring at the Sun, Genocide, or Americana. Bad Habit is great too....it's also about road rage.
Quarashi - Stick 'em Up, is one of my favorite driving songs. One of my best driving moments involved that song. It was about 2am, I was on my way home from Long Island, after dropping a friend home after a concert. When I was passing through the Bronx on the highway, I put on Stick 'em Up, cranked the volume, and opened my windows all the way. The cool summer breeze and the open road was one of the greatest feelings ever. |
