RIP Jeff Beckman - June 19, 2003

Jeff was a dear person to me. He never let me down, never let me have a bad day. He was selfless and kind, giving of his mind, his body, and his soul.

On June, 19th, 2003, Jeff was killed in a tragic hit-and-run at 12:30am. He was only 14.

There's so much to be said. He, and another friend of mine, Casey Stephens, were both hit. Casey only suffered a broken femur, and has had surgery. Jeff, however, left behind his girlfriend, Samantha Rix, one of my best friends, and many, many friends. Everyone loved him very dearly, and I can only wish that he had of been taken later.

Jeff would have readily taken a bullet for any of his friends. He was so loving, so compassionate, and a general all around good kid.

The driver was arrested on charges of 1st Degree Vehicular Homicide, and felony Hit-and-run.

Jeff's funeral date is Sunday, June 22.

June, 19th. I will never forget that date.

This all came as too much of a shock. Jeff was probably the single greatest guy I've ever known. He always helped anyone in any way he could. He never let anyone down. And he was down to earth. Friends with anyone, no matter what. I loved him like a brother. He actually made me who I am. I was an ass last year. Then I met Jeff, and he changed me. I can't believe that he's gone. It's all one bad dream that I want to wake up from. But, he's in God's hands now. I'm sure that he's watching over us now, especially Samantha. I wouldn't doubt it if the first thing he said when he got to those gates was "Where's Samantha? I need to take care of her."

We all love you, Jeff.

Casey's still in the hospital right now. He hates it there. He seems to be doing well, but it's probably just the seditives talking to us...He was like Jeff's brother. This shouldn't have happened to either one, but it did.

This is quite a tragedy. To lose someone in the budding stages of their life. I look at myself at that age in life and thank the stars I still have my friends (Saleb, DeeVah, Etincelle) We are just as close knit today as we were when we were 14.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. It's a shame that such a wonderful child has now been taken from the Earth. I only pray that memories will help sooth your pain, but I having lost someone dear to me, kow that is a very difficult task.

Jeff was truly a great person. He would do anything to make you laugh and smile. He would gladly give the shirt off his back for one of his friends. This shouldn't have happened to casey or jeff. I have known casey since 4th grade and he is a sweet, funny guy. I hope that we can all get through this together. You are all in my prayers...

Thanks, Tobs. He is in heaven. Jeff had Christ in his life. I'm going to make sure that I get up there so that I can see him someday. And I know no one wants to hear it right now, but it was part of God's plan.

wow. reading this has been... hard i would have to say. i dont actually know how i could explain it. i have been fortunate to not have many people i die. i can only hope that he is in heaven. i am truly sorry for your loss.
