Alright, everyone. I've been toying with this idea for a while. Here's what I was thinking: All of us here know the value of the writen word, the beauty of a sentance, a phrase, a metaphore. It's through writen word that we communicate with each other. Now, I'm a Creative Writing major and I read a lot of books, and poetry and short stories and I am always on the look out for new, great books or things to read, so I thought "I bet the POs would have a lot of great ideas!" So here's your chance to tell us all about some of the works that you have found to be most enjoyable, or most enlightening or meaningful or heart-wrenching. I'd love to hear about them, and I'm sure that there are others that want to too.

Here, I'll go first:
One of my favorite authors is Micheal Morcock, a british science fiction/fantasy writer. He's no light weight when it come to writing. Each one of the books in this series that he writes is at least six hundred pages long, and he's got over fifteen of these tomes! The series is called The Eternal Champion and it is about one man's soul as it travels through a miriad of existences, some where he remembers his past lives, some where he doesn't, and his battle for the balance of Law and Chaos, the forces of each being in constant struggle for dominance in the Mutiverse. These are great books, full of human struggle and passion and wonderful writing. It gets a little crazy if you try and read ALL the books at once. It's a lot of reading. But these books are ones that I can always fall back on. If I don't have anything to read I can always go get the next book in the series and I love 'em every time! Great books, great author. And that's just one of many that I love!

So now let's here yours!

Angel Demon

Yargh, first FJ scripts, then English papers on anime, then anime reviews, and now this!

I'm developing carpal tunnel syndrome, I can tell...

And I really like this idea Sperrit! Maybe I can find time to talk about Robert Ludlum, the better Tom Clancy, some

Okay, here's another one of my fav books (I read a lot):

Strait Man, by Richard Russo. Richard Russo in kind of a newer author. He's only writen 6 books and the first two sucked. After that, though, they are pure literary gold. Nobody's Fool, Strait Man and Empire Falls are his three most recent and they are AWSOME. He writes these main characters that live in these small towns full of excentric little people with big personalities. The books are worth reading JUST for the more in consequential characters because they're so quirky and fun, but that's not the only thing to love about these. Russo just has this wonderful, almost poetic way with language that captures the imagination and brings you into these small towns and into the troubles that the characters find themselves in, and he has a knack for providing an ironic, comedic spin on even the most serious of events. Personality and voice are two things that Russo never lacks in his writing. If you like good, solid literature then you'll LOVE any one of the three novels listed above! Go read, and enjoy!
