Schools. - Righty has a dilemna

Well, ive come to a harder choice in my life. it deals with schools. for the last two years i have been going to an all guys jesuit school. this year, i might not go there. there are several reasons for this choice, and no matter which school i go to i know i will be losing a lot by not going to the other one. While it being an all guys school, with a dress code (shirts and ties, yuck), it is probably one the top 5 schols in the state. I would have a much better chance getting into a good college with this school than if i had the same grades at the public school. It offers classes at the university upon which's campus my school is on, which would be good my senior year, as i will be in college level classes then. it offers things like better teacher to student ratio, and the push the teachers give students there, which is good because im a very unmotivated person.
however, the public school offers a lot the private one doesnt; a much better art program, which i would use, more freedom in choices of classes, classes i cant take at the private school, girls, less money spent on transportation to another town, and the money saved on tuition, which is a big thing. right now my family is having a bit more of a struggle with money than we have in the past. my mom is at a low paying job, and my dad is getting let got next thursday, and i feel we dont have the huge amount of money the private school costs.

there are a few other points i might have forgotten about, but thats most of it. this is a hard choice for me to make alone at 16.

well, its up to you righty. Though, i think you know that either school that you go to will grant you a great education. For those of you who dont know, if righty did go to a public school, it would probably be the one i go to right now. Ive been going there since the beginning of the program, and so far, i have gotten a great education. Now, granted, i think that the private school is probably eons ahead of what my school system has to offer. It is also much more class than my school, and will probably give him the better grades, but like righty said before, the arts system of my school is much better than what ive heard his school has.

Well, i hope you make the best decision for yourself. You do know that if you do go to my school, i will be there to help ya if ya need it Smile

it seems that its a major decision and it really depends onwhat you want to do. if you feel that you are going to pursue art thn maybe the public schools art program would be best. it really all depends, i personally think you should maybe go with public school but its really up to you.

sorry but my life has been chaos yet again.

I am with tobias it is your choice. but my take on it is that while you my get a better education where you go now, public school is a whole other type of school. you can wear what you want there are allways the ever present female population and it offers a more diverse group of people to hang with.
but still the choice is yours.

ya, but the fact of the matter is that despite having girls in the population, its about what you want your future to become. If you wnat to persue ur art interests, then i think the public school is better, but for education, then its the prep school

tobais you are right again. but there is no social community that can give you common sense experience around like a public school. you could spend one week learning from your peers mistakes and save yourself months of being in trouble.

sorry just had to get that out.
never been to a priv school, i find opublics school to be fun with the peeps but way too slow in the classes if you want to be challenged in class stick with where you are if the peeps and the art outweigh that, go public
just my opinion obody has to listen or use it
