I gotta get this off of my chest...mainly cause it pisses me off all the time.

Well, im sure that almost all the time you play a game, someone always calls someone else a noob, or considers someone a noob because of the way they play. I personally dont like this.

I have played WCIII for quite some time now, and many other Online games for a long time, but recently, i havent played any of em, for the big fact that games are getting too political, and one of the biggest things from that is being referred to the status of Noob.

My example comes from WCIII. Im sitting here, playing, doing what i have to do, when the opponent comes in and rushes. Because of the lack of preparation of one of my teammates, his base got reemed. This, in turn, put the game in a bad position for us. Well, the first thing that my team started to do was throwing around the cursed "N" word. That word started flying everywhere, between teams and such. Now, while everyone was throwing around that silly word, i was being quiet, and building up my forces. My teammates left me, and i was alone with their stuff, being called a noob by the other team countless amounts of times. What happened you ask? I ended up Panzarowning their arses to next tuesday. And guess what: They still called me a noob, despite the fact that i won a 4 v 1.

Another example (which harkens back to my FPS playin): Im playin some good ol TFC, when the other team player manages to frag me. Well, all that came out of his text box was the evil evil "N" word. I was like: "Dude, why do you have to be like that?" End of the story: I managed to top him by about 7 frags at the end of the game.

My final example, and the one that makes me most mad, is the example of Noobifying in Diablo II. Now, ive been playin the game for about 2 or 3 years, playin on and off, so im sometimes not there to see whats goin on, and so on and so forth. Well, i get into the game, with my lvl 83 barb, and some punk amazon comes over and wants to see what i have. I show him what i have, and he proceeds to use several choice four letter words, and then proceeds to call me a noob. So i asked the fool how long he had been playing. About 1 year. Lets think about that for a minute.
While he joined, got someone to rush his ass to act 5 hell, beat the game, and sit in the cow lvl, and then dupe his items and use his 99999999% mf (magic find) gear, he then comes over to me, someone who has played the WHOLE GAME OUT from start to finish, only using what ive acquired, and getting up lvl 83 on my own, and calls me a Noob. That just pisses me off.

Dude, when someone comes into D2 now, and calls someone a noob, i just squelch, help the new guy out, and be on my way. Why? Because they are NOT a noob...no one is a Noob. They just arent as experienced as other people yet, but it will occur, and VERY quickly.

Isa also sayin this becuase many people who are joining this board are claiming to be noobies. HOW CAN YA BE A NOOBIE ON A BOARD!!! YOU TYPE...AND THATS IT!!!!!!!!!!! Stop bein silly, and just get with the postin, cuase no one thinks ya are a noob here Noobs dont exist on an online forum...and if there are, then there are some really odd things goin on.

That reminds me, 90% of the games that are available on Gunbound are N00bs only plZ!!11! games ... yet only 20 % are actual n00b, wtf!? and people keep saying you are too strong to get in the game since you have double steel axe, I just ended up playing more then the guy that's all! If it would have been all in arow, yeah, I'd be a mad killer, but nooo. They fear you cause of the rank icon that means absolutly nothing. Gah, I'm going to sleep z__Z

At this point, I actually end up behind him and send a rocket up his ass, blowing him to smithereens before he even knows what hit him.

I didn't care. Hey, I DID 0wn him! On a Dreamcast too, where internet play makes you have at least 1000ms of lag!

I'm completely with you guys. I absolutely hate it when people use the "N" word as a derogatory term. I've never heard the word used so much as in Gunbound for some reason. It's crazy. Someone could have a double steel axe, make a bad shot, and get laughed at, swore at, and be called a n00b.

People like that just have serious social issues and more than likely, don't have many friends in real life. If someone feels the need to pick on someone in an online game in order to feel good about themselves, then odds are, they're pretty much losers.

But yeah... Gunbound. You know, some people toss around the "n00b" like it's an insult. Like they don't even know the meaning of the word. The other night, one guy on our suddenly went afk in the middle of a game. Shitty thing, I know, but hey, that's life. Some guy on the other team would start swearing, talking in all caps, trying to get this guys attention, and call him a "n00b". Seriously... After a few turns I got sick of it and said. "Hey mebbe if you type LOUDER he'll hear you!!!". The guy obviously had no arguement to that so he just told me, "STFUNOOB" or something like that. I wanted to ask him why he was calling me a n00b when he was a double wooden hammer and I a double axe. He did shut up though.

I don't know about you guys, but I carry my manners and morals with me when I'm online. I'd never make fun of someone if they asked me for help or looked like they were struggling with something that they were new at.

I realize that it's "just a game" and that I shouldn't get so offended by things, but it just really bugs me when people are rude and inconsiderate. You're playing with real people with real feelings and for the same reason as you... to have a good time.

if you think its bad on gunbound, play warcraft 3. in an average game you will hear someone get called it about... 13 times. one person. now in a 4v4 with 8 players, each person will get called it 13 times, and in turn start a flame war. its pointless as all hell. that, and there's an entire CLAN on warcraft 3 devoted to backstabbing people. that pisses me off. how is ruining the game for other people fun? i payed money to get this game and go play it and have fun, and you are having fun by making me lose? screw you asshole. i mentioned in my thread that insulting peoples musical tastes, car horns, and one other thing piss me off to no end. noob is that other thing.

You know what's odd? I've never really had that problem. Sure I've dealt with idiots before, but I've never been called a noob. I'm playing a Half Life mod right now called The Specialists that's great. So far I've never seen anyone in a game say more than a couple of sentences.

I had to deal with something worse than a noobcaller though in Counter Strike once. A rampant tker. That's 10x more anoying. It was pretty funny though. Got to the point where someone on our team would up and kill him as soon as the round started. That was mostly me. lol

It feels so much better when you totally "pwn" them after they call you a n00b. I think "n00b" is funny due to its blatant perversion of the english language. Right up there with that rap lingo.
