Let me offer some more abstract selections from the videogame soundtrack world, as that's alot of what I listen to :3

Anything by Yasunori Mitsuda, but especially:

Creid- A beautiful CD with all sorts of celtic themes. All live-instrument arrangements of pieces from Xenogears.

Xenosaga Episode 1 OST- The game hasn't come out over 'ere yet, but it's an intense blend of both adrenaline-pumping orchestral tracks, gorgeous piano pieces, ethereal choir pieces, and some high-quality midi work as well. The coolest thing is that the soundtrack lends itself very well to listening, as the pieces are prettymuch all standalone and don't loop, with exception of 5 or 6 background tracks (like battles, etc.)

Chrono Cross OST- More good classic soundtrack work. All midi, but very good midi.

---
Next, from Yoko Shimomura, definately check out:

Parasite Eve Remixes- A whole bunch of techno goodness, from many subgenres as well. All of the tracks are remixes by various techno peeps, and two of them by Shimomura herself. Lovely.

---
If you're into progressive rock and ambiance (the two actually mix kinda well when put in sequence)

Silent Hill 2 OST- A bunch of ambient, yet still cool, tracks; most of which having a sweet lil groove to nod along to. They're interspersed with moody horror tracks and four high-quality rock pieces that are some of my faves to date.

---
Finally, if you can stand listening to vocals in other languages, definately check out this jrock singer called Gackt. He's currently got 3 CDs out, all of which are awesome: Mars, Rebirth, and Moon.

If you're looking for a great sound with a great feel I'd say Ozo Motley. They're this sorta unknown group that can do (and does) like, every musical style known to man. And they do them all REALLY GOOD. If you're into funk, jazz, latin, rap (the rap is good, I swear! It's not all like "OG in the hiz-ouse" and stuff, it's like GOOD) Indian, it's all there. Definitely one of my fav bands.
