What can anyone tell you about love? There's nothing anyone can say that will let you know how wonderful-and horrible-it is.When you fall in love, and know that it's reciprocated,the world is a bright and glorius place, But if love falls apart, if you begin to feel abandoned or excluded, or if somebody else interferes, the agony can be intense. You feel betrayel and loss, and they hurt worse than you ever imagined they would. Love does strange things to people. Lovers stumble into it. Full of hope...and innocence.But they learn a hard lesson sooner or later...hopes can be ruined...innocence...destroyed in the very people they trust most...

can anybody tell me...what love is? because love is as evil as anything out there...love kills...literally.

look at it like this...you have a freind...this freind, has been going out with a guy that she has loved with all her heart for 6 months of an intense relationship...for him to turn around, screw another girl, and throw the other one away, while getting a new one...or "revamping" his relationship.

dont fall in love unless you know you're for positive with the person you will share your life with...because trust me...a broken heart, is like losing your soul. its not something you can get over...it lives with you forever...

You put it really well, Akira. Love can be the most wonderful thing in the world . . . but when it a) fades, b) ends abruptly, or c) is unrequited, then it hurts like anything.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. She deserves to be treated a *lot* better than that.

At a point in my life, I thought that love existed for several reasons:

1) For the one that never experienced it, it's something that pushes him to live an other day in hope to find it;

2) For someone that is experiencing it, it's something that helps him live that day and make it last untill the end of time;

3) For the one that lost it, it's something that comes break all his conseptions of what love might be ... eventually bringing him back to 1)


So since I'm back at 1), I can't really tell what love is, yet I'm not as confused to the point of not knowing what love is completly and seek to live an other day in order to know what it feels ... the only feeling that is the closest in my memory of what love is is pain right now, so it's more a nuisance to my existance then something that helps me strive forward and smile at life. The day I will have forgotten the pain, I will have forgotten about love, and I will become curious again, because as much as I'll want to ask myself what love might be, I'll close my eyes to the truth deep inside me, and probably either end up doing the same mistakes, or other ones.

... but either way, I'll go trough 1) 2) and 3) over and over again untill my dying day ... and now, as far as I know, life is worth being lived for the short period of time 2) lasts. And what makes someone think he lived a good life depends, I think, in what phase he happens to be before his death:

If it's 1), he might think he didn't take time to live his life;

If it's 2), he might think he truely lived;

If it's 3), he might not give a damn about dying.

love is a fabulous thing. it fills you up, and when it is gone, everything seems empty.
thats the really great thing about God. He loves us, no matter what we do to Him, and whenever we need Him, He is there. He never leaves us empty.

Beleive me, regardless of who catches me, I'm at a point where I ask myself ... would it be worth of being catched? Will THAT save me? If so ... from what? from pain? ... I'm not as suicidle as it might sound ... but I'm just, losing my sight.

And Akira, I think that the only time you'll be able to tell you were meant to live your life with someone all your life is the day you'll die by herside on a rocking chair at the age of 73. Or when you went beyoung the 14 years ... or was it 7? Anyway, it is said that the 14 (or 7) first years are the hardest, but if it has been possible for a couple to last that long without having to live together as a constant sacrifice, it has a high rate of lasting untill the end of each other's lives.

Well, I sorta of agree with what you guys are saying. But it seems like the overall focus of what anyone is saying is that love is a bad thing that you should avoid at all costs because it WILL hurt you. While that can be the case, it's not all the time. I've been in a relationship for over a year and a half. For most of that time, I've been madly in love with the girl that I am with, and I KNOW that she feels the same way. All I know is that it has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, and that being in love with someone has been the greatest feeling ever. Losing that love however, is possibly what frightens me the most in this world right now. But I realize that if that I really have no control over that. I can't force someone to love me back, and I can't force myself to love someone if I fall out of said love. I dunno if that helps or makes ANY sense, or is relevant at all, but the main point I meant to make is that you guys are speaking of a particular type of love. The love you would get as part of a relationship. This is the most dangerous type of love, but there are OTHER types of love. Such as the love between family members and friends, or as Lanfear mentioned, God's love, if you choose to believe in that. Just because you don't get the relationship kind of love doesn't mean that you're not getting "love".

Again, I don't know if that helped AT ALL. I'm getting tired, and I realize I'm probably not coherent anymore. I hope someone made some sense of that.

Yes ... the other types of loves ... thx Ming, you remind me of me when I was beleiving in love in general, such as friendship, family, I still am that person who beleives in all that, I guess I kinda forgot about it in the past weeks since I was so self-absorbed by the pain ...
