Right. So, as a few of you may be aware, I like to write. Sometimes it's just random stuff, and sometimes it's stuff about my rpg characters, but I used to be really into writing fanfiction. Like every normal healthy teenage girl who has a computer is ^_^.

However, I can't even stand to -read- most fanfic anymore. Why's that? Canon rape. People get highs off of pairing the most ridiculous characters together, and that's fine when you're doing it out of fun, but when you take the characters so OOC in a serious fanfic that Draco's shagging Harry just because "they look so hawt together, hurr hurr" it gets ridiculous.

Therefore, my rant- I HATE people who ignore the character's personality in favour of pairing them up with whomever they think 'looks good with them' I HATE people who make characters act totally Mary-Sue or Gary-Stu because they want their original character to shine, I HATE people who ignore laws of physics when writing a fanfic, and FORGODSAKES DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON PEOPLE WHO CREATE SHITTY ORIGINAL CHARACTERS.

....that is all. Until the Original Character rant that is inevitable.

God your telling me. They're abuncha dumbasses that I don't even bother read anymore. They pair up two anime characters that hate each other with such an undying passion yet they think they really love each other. That and when they keeps using -kun, -san, and other japanese words. Are you japanese? No, you're not you nerdy waste of human life. Go outside and die. Don't get me started on bubbly monkey mischief writers/artists. I wish unbearable death on all of them. Specially those who pair up Richter and Alucard. DON'T! Ok? Richter is a pimp machine. After Dracula X: Chi No Rondo he prolly scored with all the girl's he rescued save Maria. Cuz she's like 13 and ya know. That'd be wrong. But then again some people made SpikexEd doujin that makes me wanna rip out my eyeballs.

As for original characters, don't make me laugh. They all seem to be over-powered god like characters. Some 16 your old dippy teenage girl makes her Cowboy Bebop character to be a daughter of the most powerful syndicate in the galaxy while she's secretly a bounty hunter that knows 50 forms of martial arts and has a crush on Spike. Ugh, pisses me off to no end. Maybe they should make a comic called Resident Stupid: Moron Escapades. Have all the fanfic writers get smited by the stuff they rape in order to please they're own selfish needs. Fuckers, I hope you choke on some bad Mexican candy, freakin attention whores. Make hard working decent writers like look bad. Tool.

Well, I couldn't really say for certain, Shurikane. I'm mostly talking about the imbeciles who create characters who are just like them only more perfect and beautiful and everyone loves them, etc. It makes me sick.

Now, Lewis, there's nothing wrong with bubbly monkey mischief so long as it's -believable-. I mean, some Anime's practically ask for it, although in some, like Saiyuki, it'd have to be an alternate universe merely because the universe the characters live in would make it impossible for them to actually get together, etc.

I just hate it when people take, say, Duo and Heero (both of whom I despise, but anyways) from Gundam Wing, and make Heero dump Relena, make Duo into a disgustingly femmy flaming gay, and shove them together just so they can write gay sex scenes.

It's disgusting, and it's canon rape, and pathetic to boot.

Yep, Heero is an unfeeling little soldier who cares nothing but a successful mission, Duo is a man of the cloth, The other two i don know. But for the love of almighty! DBZ does not deserve to be a topic in Yoai! No! N-O! Its wrong and it makes me vomit. I do not want to see Piccolo telling Gohan to "Take it up the pooper you daffy whore!". Cuz I'll cry...and scream...and then close my eyes, then ply some Harmony of Dissonance.

um I completely agree with you all. But I think that a writer should be able to strech a non-original character a little as long as it still stays true to the character. Like if I were to write a story about say batman and I changed things so that a good amount of people know that bruce wayne is batman.
I say if you have to change characters do so in moderation.

And I ain't done read enough Fan fic to make a real opinion...My favorite was when Sailor Moon beat the Power Rangers.

But I can't stand reading for 15 + pages on my comp and I don't like printer paper...So I'm sorta SOL unless someone can bind a Fanfic book for me.

Canon rape- the 'rape' of canon characters-- misrepresenting them, making them act against the personalities established by the author for them, and essentially violating the sense of 'self' about a character. It's like taking the bark off of a tree.

Ex: there was a fanfic I read about the Sailor Senshi(warriors) who where nazi lovers. So Luna hoping to give them a little lesson in morality sent the back to Nazi Germany. Her plan backfired as the senshi became Hitler and his men's sex slaves. Blahbity blabity blah. I'd find the link but I dun want to. Because I evolved out of reading stupid fanfics like this. I remember reading a Back Street Boy fanfic with the lead singer making out with the author. Yea, touching stuff...touching like getting a vanereal disease from a hooker. God I hate Teeny-Boppers...and Total Request Live...and the teenage population all together.
