I was searching around in my basement earlier today and I happend to stumble across an old brown photographer's case of my Dad's... I opened it and to my suprise found THREE awesome looking cameras, FIVE lenses, FOURTEEN filters, and a slew of other nifty stuff. And... A telescopic lens almost as long as my foot! It's all from the mid 70's or early 80's I'm sure... But it's sooooooo COOL! From the looks of things, I can tell my Dad was SERIOUSLY into photography back in the day... This stuff looks uber expensive. Anyone know anything about these cameras?

Looks like two Fujica AX-3's and an Olympus OM-2. The Fujicas are exactly the same except for the lens that I found on them.

I put the telescopic lens on the Olympus (it won't fit on the Fujicas)

Looks like something straight out of a Bond film, doesen't it?

62 mm of 1337 photographin' 0wnage. I'm loving it! Wink Now I can stalk people from safer distances! ... errmm... I mean... uhhh... Take better pictures of birds! ...or something Laughing

Okay, so maybe it's not that close, but I do have a pretty big foot. (size 11 Shocked )

I hope that was entertaining Wink

I've used a telephoto lens like that. ^_^;
Well... not quite that long. it was like a 100-300mm Nikon.

from the looks of the pictures, those are wide angle lenses on the other two. I bet they have that split line focus ring thing that I miss from my aunt's old camera...

*feels like a big dork now*

but yeah... now i'm curious. what kind of filters and other stuff is in there? With the exception of checking stuff out from the school, I only have my little Pentax.

*needs more lenses, but can't afford the $150+ price tag*

[edit] I bet there's a light meter somewhere in that bag, too. It would be a gadget with a white ball on the end.

*looks around in the bag*

Alright, there is a whole lotta other stuff:

-A cool green filter! (49mm)
-Several Kenko Skylights (a few 49mm and one 62mm on the end of the telescopic lens)
-A Tiffen polarizer
-A couple of Quantarays
-A whole bunch of lens caps
-A camera strap
-A nice leather camera glove
-Sears close up No.1, 2, and 3
-A whole buncha filter cases
-A lens cleaning kit

No luck finding a light meter

I also found slides of pictures taken around my house more than 15 years ago... (before I existed)... It looks the same... and yet... different... It's really strange

Yep... It's all in working order... The cameras are a little scratched up and the lenses are a little foggy, but they all still work nicely. I'm going to get batteries for them tonight (if they still make them Rolling Eyes )... so yep... Not getting this stuff man Wink

However, if you make me a good offer, then maybe you can get all of this stuff off my hands... I want a kick-butt-awesome digital camera Wink

Man ... I'd trade all that stuff for my digi cam. It's an Optio S from Pentax. Then again, I dunno ... it's so small and handy and ... it sucks litium-Ion batteries in no time -_- gah, silly Pentax, why do I love you so much! Pentax: ''cause I make 3.2 Mpixel pictures and crasy lil movies and record sound sample and I'm sooo small and shiny!

*glomps Optio S
