Its a philosophy or a relgion, depending on how you want to practice it. Don't get me wrong demonic, I'm on your side, just for different reasons.

As for the Adam and Eve bunk - I can't buy that either. I just can't take a lot of the myth-like instances in the Bible literally. The Adam and Eve story was good for people two thousand years ago. Culture had evolved since then and so has our understanding of creation and exsistance. God (I use the term figuritvely, I don't believe in God) left us the means and way to discover the 'right' story of exsistance.

Ill tell you what I really think demonic. To be frank, I think christianity is a wonderful religion and should be respected - for certain persons. I believe whole heartedly there are alternate and more educated ways of preceiving the fabric of exsistance, but I don't think theres anything to belittle about it. There are pricks are are very adament or pushy about christianity, but if youll notice those ppl are usually pricky about everything and they'd be pricky buddhists, moslums, or whatever. Many chrisitans are pretty average and swell about their beliefes and respecting yours.

Sorry to ramble, I just really like speaking about religion and christianity, anyway, dinner time, peace.

My parents aren't a higher power that could have made me perfect. The government isn't a higher power that could have made me perfect.

No anger, just annoyance, which is different.

Christianity should be respected for the behavior it tries to teach. Not, however, for how the higher power of the religion, God Himself, doesn't always follow his own rules.

To chime in, since i have discussed this topic in very large length with my father, who knows volumes about religion:

So far, the representation of the tree is something of a symbol, like kensei had said: Its their to test faith. Despite the fact that adam and eve had ignorance, and that they didnt know right from wrong, the reason why the tree is important is because once they ate from it, they realized that they were doing a bad deed. The tree, though, and why it was placed, i feel, is a test. God wanted to see what he made in action, and wanted to see if they were really as good as he made them.

Oh, and personally, i think that God makes mistakes. Mankind being a possibility of one of those mistakes, or that tree being another one. Or ev3en the ignorance...or hell, even the creation

But anywho, i still think that the man up yonder is infallable, mainly because he did give us one other thing: Free will. Whilst we may have been ignorant at that point, he did grant man the ability of free will, to make his own decisions. This being the reason why eve was able to be seduced by the snake.

To Shino: Ur idea of creation and evolution is something that i am greatly interested in. Its something that ikve actually tacked together, since im a roman catholic, but believe in evolution. I feel that God made the dinosaurs as a precursor to mankind, and when he finally realized the hostility of the dinos, he did something to kill them all, and then took his sweet time to reshape the earth, and whatever animals lived through it all, started to evolve under his will. Tis just an idea Very Happy

And for buddhism and it being either a philosophy or a religion...i think its both, but i also think that it is one other thing: A way of life.
That, and i think that buddhism is closely connected to christianity. But thats a whole 'nother topic Very Happy

That is all

The Bible says let nothing unwholesome/filthy/etc (Depends on translation) come out of your mouth. With the knowledge of how these words are used, it is a sin to use them.

As I said Kensei, this is one of my views. These words were created by man and Man considered them unwholesome and filthy. To me, these words are just slang for other words. I still avoid saying them out of respect for people around me, but I don't worry to much when they slip out.

I agree with your statement Tobias. I like to think of evolution more to the affect of the evolution of His thinking of what Man should be instead of the evolution of life. For all we know, we may not be what God wants, maybe our destiny is to evolve into yet another form of life. Maybe one that uses more then 10% of their brain.

Man was made perfect. But Adam and Eve fell into the temptation of evil and screwed it up. As Tobias said, the story of Adam, Even, the Tree and the serpent is mainly for symbolism I think. Man is to easy to influence.

We don't know if they're apples. It's just referred to as fruit.

Coulda been pineapples. Pinapples aren't appealing, especially if you don't know what's in them.

But it could just as well have been big, juicy pears.

I'm done arguing this, I only get the same things repeated at me. So yeah.

But how'd they eat the pine-apples? They lacked knives n'junk....They COULD have smashed them on the rocks but would you seriously eat something that made your hands bleed from picking it off said tree? Plus the trees are like 30 feet tall. And if they ate them off the ground it doesn't go against God cause he said to not eat FROM the tree...But once they fall they are no longer FROM the tree they are FROM the ground...MWAHAHA!

Well you ask a question, it's answered, then you ask it again. So we are trying to explain it to you in different terms.

We are not arguing about anything. We are just trying to answer your question.

You are aloud to think differently. Hell I don't care. This is a topic to gain information, not start arguments or try to prove anyone wrong. If you do not feel that God is worthy of our praise, fine. Others here do, so you should at least respect them and not insult their religion and what they believe.

Dude, its ok that you may have your feelings on this religion. Most of my friends dont even like the religion, and would rather take to buddhism and even atheism. But as shino said, you aksed the qeustion, and we answered it. You aksed again, and we answered it the same, but differently, so that you could get a different sence of the view. Just try to respect what people believe, or else people like to get angry...grrr! (j/k)

That is all
