Aren't rabbits supposed to be signs of fertility, and all that rot? Theny WHY will none of my does have babies?! For MONTHS I have been trying, and for MONTHS I have not been getting any litters. Two litters out of at least 30 breedings.  Whoever coined the term "breed like rabbits" sure never looked at show rabbits. |

Show rabbits know they don't have to breed in large numbers. It's an instinct thing. Wild Rabbits breed like...well...like Rabbits because they know that most of the litter will be eaten by regional predators. Since show rabbits have no predators to worry about, they no longer have to breed like rabbits. They have more sense than many humans, most of whom continue to multiply and multiply and generally make Rabbits of themselves...

LOL. Just try to get them to STOP breeding in the spring, though. It is just the winter. It is not their natural breeding season, but it is frustrating because I need babies now so they will be old enough for the majour shows coming up. |

Sakura and I used to have a rabbit that was supposed to be a swarf but wound up being 16 lbs and would chase our cats around the house trying to make little cabbits! |
