In the grand chronology of life-microsoft analogies, we are still 2.0. Many many years in the future, we will hit 95 and 2000 and people will love us and hate us, and not too long after that Longbow will come along and we will be displaced as the dominant species and eventually all decay to our doom.
Isn't it scary how accurate Microsoft is? |

It's weird. For some reason there seems to be some kind of bitterness towards humanity in general with those that prowl the net. You're certainly not the first person I've heard make those arguments, and I'm sure you won't be the last. That doesn't mean that I don't think your arguments are good ones. They are. That's why the enjoy a certain level of popularity. However, this bitterness towards the human race will not solve our problems.
I suggest that you read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn. Trust me. You'll love it.

I used to hate humanity. Then I sat down and really thought about it. I came up with this:
Humanity, as it is now, is basically a four- or five-year-old kid. Humanity is very easy to influence, if you know how, but extremely stubborn if you don't. Humanity is only barely starting to comprehend the merest fringe of Right and Wrong. Mind you I said comprehend. Everyone knows what's right and what's wrong, but maybe one in 1,000 truly comprehend it. Humanity has an extremely annoying habit of doing things just to see what will happen. Humanity is always, always pushing limits, be they physical, or metaphysical. Humanity hears only what it wants to hear, not necessarily what it needs to hear, or what you want it to hear. Any given thing must be explained in the simplest of possible terms for Humanity to understand it. Many things are beyond Humanity's capability of understanding.
