OK here is a new update to the tournaments...

Losing fighters will get experience points...

1/4 of the lower of the two winning experience amounts.

So if a level 1 fights a level 4 and wins, they get 4000 exp. But if the level 4 wins, he gets 125 exp and the level 1 gets 1/4 of that. This will promote the fighting of equal levels.

So if a level 2 fights another level 2, the winner gets 1000 exp and the loser get's 250.

General Lews Therin Mythral, Commander of the Allied Military of the Council of Norwind, appears with a flash in the center of the ring. His eyes are burning with the bright red fires of battle, and blood. His voice is amplified so that the entire, chanting, screaming arena can hear him.

"Welcome, one and all, to the third annual Pocket Otaku Wars Tournament! It is a wonderful day today, temperatures are just a tad above eighty, and the wind is whipping about like a dragon's tail! Though it may be hot, you will all stay nice and cool, thanks to moi. However, I predict that you will not be worrying about that. Instead, you will be watching, mesmerized, the very ground upon which I now stand. for upon this ground will fight sixteen of the greatest duelists ever to grace us with their presence. They are Enon, Terin, Doot, Shandriz, Musashi, Reverend Airius, Shinobishi, Aindriahhn, PRG, Ultrawolf, Rayne, Silver Adept, Lygato, Kenji, Hoth, and Kurisu."

Lews Therin pauses, and looks around in anticipation as the crowds cheer and chant various names. None can be made out from the general squabble. There are no favorites as of yet.

And now, I would like to introduce our first pair of combatants! Give them a warm hand now, because they may be unable to hear you once they're done!

First on our list, is the lovely, intelligent Enon DeKali. You will mostly see her cataloguing texts in the miniopian library, The Shelves of Knowledge, but there will be no books here today! Today, she comes to us wielding a vicious pair of kama, named Keket, and Zerah! I hope I never see those in the library, or they may be the last thing I ever see!"

*waits for laughter*

*sighs*

"Anyway...Next, and fighting agains Miss DeKali in the ring, by the way, will be our resident...correction, one of our many resident slackers! His name is Terin, but his friends call him Fr0sty. I guess the zero must be silent. Anyway, he'll be battling with the Magnificent Mace of 1,000 Misses! I sure hope he's good on defense, because it sounds like he won't score a hit! But who am I to foretell? I've never heard of the weapon anyway!"

Suddenly, in a burst of incandescent light, both appear on opposite sides of the ring. Enon looks around slowly, analysing her options, and analysing her opponent. Terin leans against the wall behind him and slacks off. Lews Therin bows and shakes hands with each, and then vanishes. His voice rings out over the stadium.

"Ready? FIGHT!"

As soon as the command is called, Terin launches himself from the wall at his opponent. Clearly, he is not as much of a slacker as he would have us think. The Magnificent Mace comes down and blasts straight through Enon's surprised attempt to guard and give her a jolt to the head for 253 damage! He seems to be defying our every notion of his abilities! But Enon reacts quickly after the initial shock, slashing with both kama directly into Terin's open middle! Terin recieves 342 damage! Enon goes for a followup, driving upward, but Terin leans almost listlessly to the side, looking every bit the slacker, and cuts halfheartedly at her side. Enon deftly catches his mace in Zerah's crook, and the two fighters step back. Neither has broken a sweat. Enon takes stock, and tries to reevaluate Terin's odd style of fighting, while Terin leans on his mace and eyes her lecherously.

Going for a surprise hit, Enon hurls Keket with terrifying speed. Terin falls over. The kama whistles past his ear as he topples to the side. He rolls to his feet and hurls his mace directly at his opponent. Enon attempts to block with Zerah, but twenty pounts of flying steel is not to be cast aside by a single kama. 289 points of damage to Enon. Both fighters dive for their weapons. Enon swings halfheartedly at Terin's head as she goes by, but he is moving to quickly to be tagged without effort. He gets his mace first, turns and rushes toward Enon. She gets Keket just in time, rolls to her feet, and traps the haft of the mace in the crooks of both kama. She smiles evilly as she rips her weapons apart and slices the head off the mace! Terin goes into evasive mode, but Enon still manages to score a gash in his shoulder for 319. Both fighters are bloodied now, and neither is willing to stop until the end has come. Terin dives forward past Enon's kama, twists in the air, and smashes the head of the mace off the ground and directly into his opponent's back. Enon is blasted from her feet, recieving 327 points of damage, and and lies on the ground for a few seconds to catch her breath and overcome the pain.

Terin doesn't give her much time to recover. His is the dishonorable route, as he smashes her head with the haft of his mace. Stars flash before Enon's eyes and she takes a further 300 damage. Suddenly, she jumps to her feet, enraged, and hurls herself at Terin. He falls to the side, and is unable to tag her on her way past. She falls forward, and he hits her in the legs for 252. Enon staggers to her feet, away from Terin, and gives him a look of purest hatred. Terin smiles and leers at her from across the arena.

Suddenly, both fighters charge eachother. Terin picks up the head of his mace off the ground as he streaks forward with lethal intent. Enon begins to chant under her breath, calling upon one of the ancient languages of magic that can be found in the deeper sanctums of the library. Her weapons glow and the wind gathers around her. She is readying for a killing blow. Even against an enemy with more than half his hit points still remaining, the spell she is preparing will take his life, even as he takes hers. At the last moment, though, she falters. Having read hundreds upon hundreds of ancient tomes, she has trouble calling up the last few syllables of her spell. Those few milliseconds of falter cost her the match. Her weapons come down and drive through Terin's shoulders for 323 even as he smashes the head of his mace straight into her face. 407. Enon DeKali falls to the ground, her face unrecognizable. Even in unconsciousness, she still grips her kama tightly, and they rip painfully out of Terin's shoulders. Terin's arms dangle uselessly from his ruined shoulders, and blood soaks his shirt, but he is victorious. With 816 HP remaining, Terin raises his eyes to the cheering multitude, smiles, and, in true slacker fashion, collapses.

Terin, you have won the match. Since both of your levels are even, Terin gains 1000 XP, while Enon gains 250. Remember, when you gain a level, you get 100 points to distribute at your whim among your stats, and 30 points to add to either your minimum or maximum damage. If prizes are done in the same way as last time, Terin has just won the shield, but you'd have to ask Shino about that one.

Great Job General!

I didn't get the chance to do this last night so I'm going to do it now.

How Shino decided the Brackets.

It was almost all random.

I wanted to put all the level 3s and all the level 2s on the same side of the same bracket so they would fight eachother first and the level 1s would have a chance to level up a couple of times before getting to them.

Unfortunatly, that didn't happen. Mainly b/c if it did, it would have placed Gorty and Musashi in the same bracket and that couldn't of happened. So I had to seperate the level 2s and 3s. There is a pair of 2s in each bracket ( fighters 5 and 6 ) and a pair of 3s in each bracket ( fighters 7 and 8 ). From there, all positions were random. I put everyones name in a hat and picked them out and the order I piced them out was the spot they got.

Why is this an issue?

Well because in the second round, a level 3 will fight a level two. The only exception to this would be if Musashi won his fight where he would advance to level 3 before fighting either Shino or Ain. Then even worse yet, the winner of that fight will be level 3 no matter what, and their opponent in the third round will be a level 2.

I hope this isn't too confusing and I apologize for the way it is set up, but it is the most fair way I could do it and keep the BMs from BMing their own fight.

Well I guess we will get a few chances to see if the lower levels actually have a decent chance when it's just one shot.

For all of you to feel a little better, last night I ran a test of Shino (lvl3) vs Hoth (lvl1).

Out of 30000 battles, Hoth won just over 8000 of them. So it is possible.
