anybody else watching ER right now? they're doing the "Momento" thing, all the scenes in the episode are in reverse order. this seems to apply every time i watch, but i am in complete awe of the people who make this show.
same thing with West Wing. between those two shows, there's enough quality television that the other networks (and the rest of NBC) might as well just not exist. although i'd miss the Late Late Show with Craiggers on CBS... and Frasier... and Weakest Link... but those are just for fun - they're not nearly as special in and of themselves. |

yeah, i'm still building up my tolerance for stomaching the more graphic scenes in ER...like last night when Luca had to operate on this 12-yr-old car crash victim in the field, slicing into his shoulder so he could insert pliers to move the end of the kid's broken collarbone which was blocking his windpipe...with no anesthetics, too...
*shudders*
but if you can avert your eyes from the icky stuff, everything else is just amazing; the writing, the acting, the filming... what i love about ER as well as West Wing is that they use very mobile cameras to take extended shots that travel down hallways, around corners, pass from character to character; and all in a single take! both shows are such elaborate productions - huge sets, tons of extras, complex shots, etc.
as for Alias, i see commercials for it all the time but somehow i'm never watching when it's on. and because i don't have cable in my dorm room, the only stations i get reception for are local carriers of ABC, NBC, and CBS - so 24 and Buffy are out. I did like Buffy during high school, though. |

oh man... you mean you don't watch 24 b/c you can't... oh that's just brutal. You should go get the first season on DVD and you will see how good of a show it is.
My roommate watched half the season (12 episodes) in one day. then when I came home she said to me...
"how did you do it."
"do what?"
"Wait an entire week to see the next episode each week... I would go crazy"
Yeah those are the things about ER that I don't like. Knives are not my friend. You can blow a guys brains out with a gun, but for some reason, if you cut him open with a blade of some type... it just gets to me. |

West Wing is a great show. I love it muchly. And then there's Law and Order. The original Law and Order. Not these stupid rip-offs. The original was SO good! It's in syndication on A&E. You all need to watch it. It is writen by the same guy that does West Wing. Very good. Go see.
