You know what gets me. Firefighters who smoke. I mean they risk their live to go pull someone out of a fire, and then they go puff on a stick that has some of the same chemicals as the smoke that is choking the person they are saving. If you know that it's bad, then why do it?

I don't smoke..Allergic to it..And Shino like I said NO person has EVER been linked to getting lung cancer from second hand smoke from cigarettes..You can say that since cigarettes give you lung cancer then of COURSE it will give the guy sitting next to you cancer all ya want but NO ONE has EVER gotten lung cancer from second hand smoke.

If they did then all the anti-tobacco lobbyists would use them as a poster child and they would actually have a case against big tobacco.

At this time they're simply complaining that smoking is bad and addictive...DUH! But if they EVER found someone who has gotten second hand smoke from cigarettes there would be proof that it kills other people and the government would be force to put companies out of business or impose mandatory anti-smoking laws. Also Child Protection Services would take away children from parents who smoke because you would be abusing your child.

And Shino your link had NO factual proof..Again it's assumed that since cigs cause cancer that their smoke must also cause cancer. And notice they say second hand smoke..NOT second hand Cigarette smoke. In Mexico city Mexico they say the air quality is equal to smoking three cigarettes a day...But it's not from people smoking it's from air born pollutants. So ANYONE who has died from lung cancer and doesn't smoke can't place all the blame on cigarettes.

By YOUR logic since you can die by sucking on the tailpipe of a car then all cars should be banned from roads because I have to breathe their exhaust as I walk down the street.

There is no doubt in my mind... smoking not only kills you, but it kills the people around you too.

Drinking may be directly detrimental to your health, but you drinking won't hurt that guy next to you.

No it says he SUSPECTS it definetly causes it. Just because you say it does doesn't mean it does...They were paid by anti-tobacco lobbyists to find proof and they came up with a supicion that it HELPS cause cancer...It doesn't guarantee cancer it just ups the percent.. Like Living in the Las Vegas desert where they tested 2400 nuclear bombs will cause many newborns to be born with Down Syndrome.

There was this guy in health class who had lung cancer 'cause his wife smoked. Both of my grandfathers died of lung cancer. That's all the proof I need. Smoking = t3h evil.

Well yeah..Smoking isn't good for ya but you shouldn't be allowed to just outlaw things that aren't good for ya. If you think about it if we took all cars off the road there'd be less pollution and drunks won't have 2 tons of metal to slam into Lil' Suzy or Jimmy. But they won't do that even though it makes sense.

What about Cell Phones..Those are PROVEN to harm the human brain and there is NO way to dampen it no matter what anyone tells you..Yet they still exist.

And how bout Speakers that can go above the safe listening levels? The speakers hurt your ears and if you're a jackass everyone else around you listening to your music against their will.

The fact that it increases the chances is what needs to be proven.

Smoking "helps" cause cancer in the smoker, and anyone around the smoker. Therefore, I think it should be illegal!
