SURPRISE! - Man o Man

I will tell you honestly this year has not been the easiest. It has tested my strength and my will, my love and my endurance. My heart and my soul.

I won't lie, it has also been a difficult week. I had Saleb in town to help me plan a suitable memorial for my mother. In a way I felt like I didn't accomplish enough until this weekend.

My older sister called and said she would be in town for the memorial. Which is exellent because she is awesome. I had plans to do and Saturday was my final day to do it. And for some reason all of my friends had to run off to do other things which frustrated me a little but since my sister was coming I was primarily ok with the whole bit.

We went to my dad's to pick up Sakura , who had "baked a beautiful german chocolate cake in the kitchen". When I went into the kitchen, I almost had a heart attack, for in the kitchen was a group of friends waiting to give me one of the biggest surprises in my life! "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

So my birthday is on the 30th but this way a lot of people were in town and could make it super special. I can't begin to explain how my heart feels like it will burst right now, just thinking of all the wonderful people who spent their time to concoct such a wonderful surprise. I ran around hugging everyone Saleb, Shino, Sakura, Chibi Knight, Disco Diva, Sciler, NeoGen, Akira and a handful more of people (and I'm pretty sure Sciler is still laughing at the footage she got of a surprised Doot - and yes I scream like a girl).

The night was wonderful and I can't even begin to thank appropriately enough everyone who made it that way. And I could only wish that some of our distant PO's could have been there. But I will tell you, this weekend has been amazing.

I had been so concentrated and concerned with the memorial that while I was honed on that Saleb was busy making arrangements for the party.

Now it has also been pretty gloomy all week in Atlanta. Cold and rainy. SO my concern was of the weather for Sunday, the memorial.

I woke up and couldn't have been granted a more beautiful day. We were able to go out in the sunshine (although still a bit chilly) and hold a fitting and healing ceremony for Sakura's and my mother. I truly believe she made that possible, and I truly believe she is happy in her thinking spot. I had forgotten how gorgeous it was there but she helped remind each of us and helped introduce some of us to her glory.

I am honored and blessed to have the friends and family I have. And only wish deep down in my heart that I can bless them even half as much as they make me feel. Thanks everyone. You are all my life's surprises.

no prob doot....all though u did scream like a little girl when we all yelled suprise..... :p ..but the words that u and sakura said on sunday cannot be explained they were so amazing.
the roses and the weather were excelent. could not have had a better day,and yes you are right your mom probably did set that day for us..thanks for lettin me tag along in it all....

Doot... All I can really say is that you deserved that party. I was actually very happy that Salab called me and said she was planning it. Knowing that I was going to be out of town for two of my best friends' Birthdays was pretty upsetting, so when she asked me to help, I was more then happy to.

I'll be sure to post some of the pictures that Ralph took when he gives them to me.

As far as your mother goes, you are right about all of that. And she will continue to be by your side whenever you need her guidence and wisdom. Because I honestly believe my father is doing that for me.

You will always be an important part of your friends' your family's lives. And I for one know, I could only hope to make you feel as great as you make me feel. Again, you deserve it.

I was so not invited to this party...~sniffle~ I woulda quit my job I tells ya! Yeah, I would have but we'll never know for certain cause I wasn't invited. I'm sure the ceremony was loverly and yer mom probably loved every minute of it. Since I wasn't there per-se I'll let someone else take the floor.

Doot, I can only agree with all the things said before. I may not have been there, but if I could have I would have. You deserve any and all recognition and support and parties, you really do. I'm glad that things worked out so well for you and your mother's memorial. Wish I could have been there.

im not kiddin it was the ultimate day....atmosphere was perfect...and the weather was sunny and bright...you could see the rays of sun shining on us as we layed our roses in the water and doot said some of the most amazing words i have ever heard...
