Gay gay gay gay gay gay gay RPG names just MAY piss me off more than people that use "u" for you and other such nonsense.

How FREAKIN hard can is be to come up with a damn name!!! at 26 letters, English has a sizable alphabet filled with all kinda of badass sounding names, why on earth would someone name themselves "//(Mark23)\\" Im sorry, was //(Mark1)\\ through //(Mark22)\\ already taken? What fagnuticis is going "Hmm, Ill name my assassin "U suk" because then hell havea lot of friends and stuff. " Or "I think an appropriate, RP based name for my warrior is "OMG_plz_heal_me"."

I've done it...not while Therin was around though. :p The guy I was running around with had a good, solid, unique name.

I find it satisfying to know that I could come up with better names than the Tarutaru walking around as "Minime6" <who I actually saw. I'm not going to pretend I know why they chose that name. But if you have a name in your head and it's taken, for god's sake come up with another name. Do not keep +1'ing your name until you get it.

Either that, or spend some time beforehand thinking up a really unique name. Anagrams often work well.

Create your own fame, instead of trying to capitalize on someone else's.

Seriously, though. The worst names are ones that have been taken, so they try and cover it up. I just saw someone named Telemachos, I've seen Ikaros, and I'm sure there's a thousand other stupid names out there that people did because they couldn't think of something else.

Well, my nick usually works - if not, I've got a couple names in reserve. If nothing else works, then I try to think of a good-sounding name. I'm not too fond of those people who think their user handle, nonsensical that it is, makes a good name in a MMORPG.

Maybe we'll make a game that assigns you a name...

Why not just Assign names and characters then?

I mean FFXI already gives you little or no choices in character customization..Why not force a name on ya? hehehe

On a side note CoH is introducing in-game character mods.

What I think is really gay is when people put the state they are from infront of the name they are going to use for the character they have.
