Demonic vs. Silver Adept

Demonic is becoming fed up with this. Thus, he surrenders control to his swords, who have stopped upon the staff's attempt at interception. A moment passes in which they do nothing, and then, suddenly, dart at the real Silver, wherever he is...

More accurately, wherever his soul is. The two blades don't rely on their eyes. They rely on their "radar." It shouldn't be too hard to find his soul's location for Bloodreign.

Silver's thinking pretty hard when he sees the blades start towards where he really is.

Let's see, can't get them to stab their master, they're relentless hunters, they're probably not going to be satisfied until they've actually killed me... doesn't give me a whole lot of options, here. Except, maybe that one.

If you were paying attention to Silver's running, you'd see that he actually wasn't touching the ground, and that the leg movement was likely for show, but it looks good enough that to a casual observer, he would be streaking across the sand, headed toward Demonic with two murderous swords at his backside. It's put up or shut up time, he's figured out, and he intends to have the last laugh.

Demonic notes the blades' position, and notes Silver... floating?

This is it... now or never, he tells himself, blasting off into the air amidst a cloud of sand, leaving a yellow trail of Chaos behind him. An obstacle for Silver, no doubt, and the swords are closing from behind.

"Come and get me!"

Needing more speed, now, Silver drops the pretense of the dash and leans into things, putting on the afterburners... he holds the staff out in front of him like a jousting lance, and is bearing down on Demonic, but still a ways away.

Demonic decides to continue on his path upwards, the Chaos trail slowly spreading out beneath him, laced with destructive fires... Laughter emits from his throat, and a voice that doesn't sound quite like his own roars down, "I said, come and get me!"

"Hmm... probably can't catch him this way... so why not..."

POP! Silver suddenly changes from being underneath Demonic to being above Demonic, and driving downward with the same intensity that he was flying upward with.

Following the sound of the pop, Demonic continues to rise, blasting up to meet Silver in the air without his blades! Though he's already proved to be quite proficient without them...

Silver bears down on the spot where Demonic is, and with a good amount of force, drives the staff into him... the force of the impact rattles him enough that he accidentally trips one of the catches on the staff...and springs a blade out from the point touching Demonic!

However, much like an electric shock, the Chaos energy runs immediately outward from Demonic, up the staff and into Silver. And worse than any electric shock, the muscles spasm, and as much as he'd like to get away from it, he is unable to loosen his grip on the staff...

Blade or no, Demonic's rage drowns out the pain of being stabbed, despite how badly it hurts, despite how it tears his shoulder apart to grab the staff while still channeling that Chaos, to jerk it out of his body and then swing it down--hopefully with Silver still on it--into the trail he left below him, up through which both his swords are traveling. All this managed before his left arm goes numb and becomes useless, as blood loss increases and injured muscles tear even more.

In short? If Silver doesn't get out of this, he's screwed.

It looks bad for Silver. Not only is he being subjected to Chaos energy, he's falling down, basically in the middle of... well, it's something weird from the looks in his eyes. Not to mention those two homicidal swords that he just missed on his way down that are spiraling down in what hopes to be the finisher. Is this the end?

Well, that bone-jarring thump as he hits the sand would make us think so. However, as the swords aim to make it permanent, he sits up just in time as they sink into the sand.

There's definitely something a little odd about Silver - could it be that he's found a way to harness all that Chaos? Not quite... the Chaos seems to harness him a bit more than the other way around. The newly minted mage seems to wait for a bit, possibly making sure all his bones and joints are still working, and making magic passes at the ones that might not be 100%.
