Well Last week my phone went dead. My poor Tivo box didn't have a connection to the service for almost a week and a half.
Then one of my buddies told me that the newest software upgrade to the Tivo box put in network support using USB adaptors.
So I went out and bought a D-Link 802.11B wireless USB adaptor and plugged the sucker into my Tivo box.
"Ding" New Tivo Message.
"There is a wireless network adaptor connected... press select to configure" (not exact quote, but basically).
So I went through the steps, set it up for my wireless network and after only a couple of bumps, Tivo now gets all of it's programming info over my wireless network.
Rawk on!
The only bump I had is when I finished the config of it, it tries to find the network. At first it could see it. I went back and forward in the steps to setting it up like 4 times and it never found it. I finally just said "Oh forget it" and finished it. Then went to Test Connection and it worked flawlessly.
Oh well... whatever, at least it works. |

buddy = best friend
buddy = closest thing I have to a brother
buddy = guy who is always there when I need him.
buddy = guy that taught me pretty much all I know about fixing cars
buddy = guy that helps me work on my car (as well as the cars owned by people that ask for my help).
buddy = guy that helps me work on my house!

Man... 2 posts... one of them was because Doot was standing right over your shoulder so you had no choice... the other was to give me guilt... dayum! That's just cold!
