PO Wars III.V - Demonic Bracket

Yeah, I promised I'd do it tomorrow. But I did it today.

"Circumstances beyond my control" happened to be homework. A lot of it. But I kicked its arse and wrote up the battle.

Geez Demonic, Are you on caffine or something? These battles are popping out like rabbits!

True, but as a priest of Mod you come to expect the fickleness. It's result of being so busy making sure that creation doesn't go too far off course. But when Mod does show up, and with me Mod does alot because Mod seems to like me, Mod makes an impact

"Welcome, one and all, to the stomping grounds for the next battle of the bracket!"

The audience cheers!

"Last fight, we saw Excel Zero beating Punk Rock Girl by accident when he flew and broke her neck! Today, we won't be having another Trap Match. No, this is going to be simple in its stipulation--neither fighter will be allowed to use any special powers. This is going to be a match of sheer martial ability!"

The audience's reaction is mixed, but any complaints they have soon die out as the ceremonial silence for the fighters' entrance descends upon them.

On one side of the arena comes Enon, Keket and Zerah gleaming in the bright lights around the old place. Her Draconic heritage shows through in that fang of hers and in those startlingly golden eyes, which lock onto her opponent on the other side of the arena.

Meeting that golden gaze with his own, red and foreboding, is Diablo, Shriken still sheathed on his back. The markings on his face give him a fearsome appearance, as do the demonic wings that make him appear larger than he is.

"And," yells Demonic into the silence, "FIGHT!"

The combatants continue to size each other up, neither seeming to know quite how to deal with the other. Enon is sleek and lithesome, able to use her twin kama with deadly accuracy. Diablo, on the other hand, has more speed even than Malok the Destroyer, and his blade loves the taste of blood. A moment more of sizing each other up, and the two combatants take a single step forth at the same time.

Diablo suddenly blasts off with Shriken held high, bringing it down in a powerful strike at Enon's head. Keket swings up, catching it in the crook of its blade and deflecting it--rather than hit her in the head, it slices across her shoulder as Diablo hits and then hops back.

Enon turns as Diablo flies away, aiming Zerah for a horizontal cut at his stomach while Keket comes in a downstroke from its deflection. Shriken, longer than either weapon, stabs into her guard. opening a gash across her ribcage before Diablo hops back again.

Enon growls, her Draconic side showing through as her weapons swing back to her sides, whirling about her nimble fingers. Diablo hops in again, thinking to seize an opening--surprise! Keket takes the stabbing blade down, its point sticking into the tile floor whilst Zerah swings out and cuts across the off-balanced Diablo's face.

The demon growls and shoves Enon off with his shoulder, Shriken cutting its way out of the tile with ease. Both fighters reevaluate each other, Diablo with a murderous gaze through the blood in his eyes, Enon while she looks at her bleeding wound, panting.

Diablo is done waiting. He takes off at her again, swinging Shriken for disembowelment, but the sleek Enon lowers herself to the floor, using her legs to put her almost parallel to the ground. Both kama slash at Diablo's passing ribs, cutting two deep gashes as the demon flies over her.

Enon straightens as she turns, kama again whirling around her fingers as Diablo turns around, snarling, readying another blow.

And what a blow it is! He swings Shriken again with one hand, aiming to slice off Enon's legs--but she jumps, moving right into a punch that slams into her face and knocks her flat on the ground. Diablo turns with his gathered momentum, from the swing completing a full spin before he stops, again facing her with a malicious grin.

Enon pushes herself from the ground, growling as she turns to face Diablo again and leaps at him! It starts out as her just pushing Shriken off to the side and making a strike at Diablo's chest, but it quickly escalates into a grueling battle of dodging, a brilliant display of their skills with each stroke, counterstroke, deflection, riposte, parry, dodge, and engagement of their weapons. ...Diablo! Zerah comes just short of his throat, a mistake by Enon that costs her much. Diablo sinks his teeth into the passing arm, jerking backwards. Enon stumbles, Shriken finding purchase in her thigh and lopping her leg right off!

Diablo gets too happy about that small victory, though. Enon hits the ground with only one leg, her blood is squirting everywhere, yes, but Keket stabs right through Diablo's foot and pins it to the tile floor. A roar of pain bursts from the demon's throat.

Immediately after, Zerah swings up, slicing into Diablo's thigh as Enon lifts herself painfully onto her leg and free hand. From his thigh, the blade swings back down, pinning his other foot.

Diablo roars his rage again as he tries to pull his feet back--which he does, at the expense of tearing them in half, making them useless. He falls backwards, beginning to black out as his head slams into the tile, his mouth beginning to open--but any speech he might have made never comes, for Enon is already on him again, kama stabbing into each thigh and then ripping up, cutting through bone like it's nothing, slicing kidneys and, eventually, lungs apart. Pulling both blades out of the sides of his chest, Enon finishes it, slicing Diablo's head off with Keket while Zerah disembowels him. Soon thereafter, paramedics drag both fighters and their body parts from the field, Enon passed out, and Diablo, obviously, quite dead.
