So I couldn't go to AWA. Why you ask? Because I'm a work-a-holic freak with tickets to pay off and a bad habit of not planning for such events. *sigh*
In any event this is how my weekend went. Thursday, the day my peeps from Texas left I grabbed a exhaust manifold on a 18hp riding lawn mower. That suxors if you didn't know, cause it literally burns the flesh from your hand in about 2 seconds. This lead to a wonderful night of working at the pizza joint, no big thing, and going to house sit for Dai and Boo. Everything is going great till about 11:30 when I decide to go to bed. Unfortunately Dai and Boo have dogs...dogs that sleep with them. I didn't want to sleep with the dogs so I locked them out of the bedroom. The canine gods punished me for this with 2...count 'em 2, seperate nightmares in one night. I don't get nightmares, I just don't. Couple this with one of the little buggers taking a dump in the guest bathroom because I didn't let them out early enough didn't help the craptacular morning of no sleep. Friday at the shop went decent I guess, cause I don't remeber any of it. Friday the dogs slept outside, again the canine gods frowned upon me and I had another nightmare...it began to get old. Saturday was the local towns foudersday thing so I had to be at the shop at 6am to get ready. I woke up at 4:30 to accomplish the tasks to be there at such time, feed the dogs, shower, eat. So Saturday I worked from 6am to 10:30pm. I bought a 6 pack after work, drank 2 and passed out, no nightmares for drunks. Woke up the next morning a little groggy, fed the dogs, let them out, went to a barbque with the co-workers and one of their hot sisters...so hot, but didn't do anything worth while. Except be the pants off some kids playing washers. It's a country game, I'll explain later. Went back to Dai and Boo's place, passed out watching ATHF, woke up at 9, fed the dogs one last time, packed my shizy, and slept in my bed for the first time in 4 days. Moral of the story, when given the chance to go hang out in Atlanta or stay home and work yourself to death and sleep on hallowed canine soul...go to Atlanta. |

You're pretty lucky, though. You got good people over where you live. They're some of the nicest I've met in a while. The rest of us have to wait another year until the next Con to see them!

I feel you, I wasn't there either, but the woman and I went to WI so that she could meet my family instead, and I spent the weekend getting stizzoned so it's all good  |
