Let me start this off by saying I drive alot. In nine months I have put 35K miles on my work vehicle. I love to listen to music but I cannot always get stations I like in some of the places I drive to so I play CDs. I realized today that I listen to the same CDs over and over. It is not that I am short on music, I have an un-godly amout of cds and music just that I keep putting the same CDs in the CD player of my car. These are CDs that I like every song(or there is maybe one I do not). Here is the point to my post:

I am wondering what great albums I am missing that could be filling my driving time.

Here is a list of CDs I cannot live without. I know there are more but this is a start:

Beck - Odelay
Dead Milkmen, The - Big Lizzard In My Backyard
Live - Throwing Copper
Mephiskapheles - God Bless Satan
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
Offspring - Smash
Reel Big Fish - Why Do They Rock So Hard?
Smash Mouth - Fush Yu Mang(a greatly under rated CD)
Streets, The - A Grand Don't Come For Free(I love CDs that tell one story with all the songs)
They Might Be Giants - Flood
Weezer - Pinkerton
Weezer - Weezer(The blue album)

I have other favorite artists but for some reason I don't like listening to them while driving and I don't know why:

Pink Floyd
Beatles

These are my favorites. Post yours.

And if have any that should belong on my list let me know and I will check it out.

I don't drive well with angry music on the speakers. Instead, I prefer orchestral stuff, I'll usually just turn to a local symphony station, but once I get my CDs into the car, it'll mostly be movie soundtracks. Lord of the Rings, The Matrix 2 and 3, Final Fantasy VIII, that sort of thing.

I am affected by music so I would drive slower and fall asleep on 3-4 hour drives. I listen to classical at home but I do not in the car unless I am super pissed. Evil or Very Mad

I listen to a lot of ska when I drive, especially old No Doubt, Reel Big Fish, and Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I like The Eagles too, 'specially the Hotel California album. I also recommend Modest Mouse, The Living End, The Necromantix, Tsunami Bomb, and Tiger Army.

It's official. Satine rocks hardcore! I loves all those bands! Blues also gets points for Flogging Molly (who wouldn't love a punk-Irish band?), and for a cool name.
Also, just because I can:
"Yeah! And my song'll have real words! Not made up ones like Odelay."
"Odelay IS a real word. Just look it up in the Beck-tionary."
Laughing
Anyway, on the business:
I recomend Less Than Jake for your listening pleasure. Beyond that I'm not sure if you'd dig what I listen too. Random assortments of Punk, Classic Rock, Opera, A ccapella, R&B and Jazz. I figure, if you're a music major you've got to have all bases covered.

Anything by AFI, most notably though is The Art of Drowning. Also, anything by the Bosstones is golden in my book. Usually though, I just make mix CDs for driving. Here's a few others that I have that are worthy a shot:

Quarashi - Jinx
Crystal Method - Vegas
The Animatrix soundtrack
The Hives - Veni Vidi Vicious
Madcap - East to West
Pretty much anything Foo Fighters
Billy Idol's Greatest Hits
And the list goes on and on and on...

Don't even get me started in individual driving SONGS, because we'll be here all day...

And MAJOR props go out to Sperrit for quoting Bender!
